There are many courses available other than engineering if you have taken maths, physics and chemistry in your 12th class. If you want to do research then you can take many subjects like b.sc in maths, chemistry or biotechnology etc, then you have to do masters and then you can try to do phd from colleges which are the best like the INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.But always keep in mind one thing that that in India there is not much scope to do research independently or in an private organization and hence if you want to do any research you have to work as an faculty after your completion of the phd only then you will have opportunity to do any kind of research in our country ,but the advantage is that the facilities available to the professors for research is of international quality and you will have enough funds available from the government for the universities ,so if you get an professor job then you can pursue your research without any problems

Many of the students who are studing in XII or studied in Xii deciding only to become engg.
generally they always ask questions related to engg. but you are very good student who has thinked little different which is good .you can become researcher as you want .
to become researcher first you have to pass b.sc and after that you pass m.sc in chemestry and
    then p.hd in chemestry.
This stream has wide scope. and you will get job easily with good packages, .wish you all the best.

Since you are interested in Chemistry and wanted to explore a successful career in research then whats to hesitate about, just go for it.

Chemistry has vast array of opportunities ranging from a Lab Teschnician to Researcher. Today Chemistry has become an Integral part of our life the soap we use to vaccines which saves our life are gifts of Chemistry. Depending upon the needs of developing and echnologically advanced world Chemistry has reformed and spreaded its wings to more greater extent.

For a successful career in Chemistry you have to aquire at least a PhD degree in any branch of Chemistry. Starting from B.sc you have to lead your way upto PhD. First complete your B.sc with Chemistry honors, then move for M.sc with specialization, even if you don't able to specialize in any branch of chemistry opt for norman Chemistry, but specialization is recommended. You can specialize in any of the following branches of Chemistry.
    • Organic Chemistry
    • Inorganic Chemistry
    • Biochemistry
    • Analytical Chemistry
    • Physical Chemistry

Apart from this various other good branches are there but not so promising in India.

Being a Researcher is one of the Lucaretive options available today. And big opportunities will always be there for Research candidates. Pay and allowance are attractive in government sector as well as private sector, mainly the difference that occurs is in government sector apart from pay hike you will get power and various opportunities and offers.

You can go for a B.E / BTech in Chemical engineering. Only a limited no. of colleges in India are offering this course.
So there is a lot os scope after you compleate your BE. You can get job in a petrochemical company, Oil refinary,
Variour chemicals, dyes, ceramic, paints manufacturing companies.
Also if you want to do research related job, go for A Bachelors degree in chemistry i.e; Bsc in chemistry.
After this go for Msc. Then you can do Phd in your area of interest.

If you are good in Chemistry, you can go for regular degree course in chemistry. Different job oriented and research fields are there for chemistry subject. As you did Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Plus Two, you can also go for bachelorís degree in any of these subjects. After completing bachelorís degree, you can go for masterís degree. PhDs will help you to do the research in your own interested area. Research opportunities are there in India and abroad. Chemical Engineering is also a good option for you. In India, less number of seats is there for chemical engineering course. Job vacancies are there in food processing companies and various other pharmaceutical companies. Thus chemistry subject will give you immense chances in both research and for pursuing a good career.
