Re: Which course has more scope between Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering?

    hello guest,

LISTING THE SCOPE OF BOTH THE BRANCHES ON BY ONE

Firstly i would like to mention that it particularly depends on the individual on how well he/she excels in a particular field. According to me the determination , hard work and knowledge defines how well a person performs in mechanical/civil field. But still enlisting the trends and objectives which will help you decide which stream will be better.

    MECHANICAL BRANCH

This branch is every green as mechanical branch as it basically deals with mechanical aspect of machines and automobiles. hence demand for such a stream will never go down.

it is slowly and gradually improve only as and when new developments take place.

Aspirants who have completed B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering degree have a lot of career opportunities in several sectors through out our country as well as abroad.Mechanical fields offer more flexibility in terms of job probile as you can opt for sales, development, manufacturing, production etc.

Listing some of the fields where mechanical engineering plays an very important role:

    Aviation industry
    Automobile industry
Robotics development and implementation on large scale
    Steel generation
    Packaging
    Power generation
    chemical industries
    Railways
    Telecommunication.

    CIVIL BRANCH

The scope of civil branch can be judged by the amount of infrastructural development taking place in a particular area. If a place is already saturated in terms of amount of buildings then much cannot be achieved in such a region.

you can also apply for some certification courses:

-> certificate course in building design
-> certificate course in construction supervisor.

You also get to work on the following softwares as well:

    MATLAB
    SCADD
    GIS
    PRO E
    AUTO CAD
    PRIMAVERA
    STAAD PRO

HENCE , CIVIL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERING ARE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STREAMS OF ENGINEERING IN WHICH COMPARISON SHOULD NOT BE DRAWN> IT DEPENDS ON A PERSON'S FIELD ON INTEREST.

    Hey,
The comparison that you have asked is very broad however with the prospect of an engineer I will list the important and relevant differences.

Mechanical Engineering: As rightly said is the evergreen branch of engineering where you
get to know the working of machines along with the basic underline principle that makes the machine work with emphasis on electrical machines and hydraulics machines like pumps, turbines,
    transformers etc.
You are guided a bit on automobiles industry with a glimpse of thermodynamics involved.

Civil Engineering:Its the most ancient branch of Engineering.Since the scope of infrastructure is never gonna get low in market.
You will have better feel of your subject when you will see structures made by you made.
You will have prospects to enter design/construction industry.
You will have many government exams opportunity as well which is equally valid for Mechanical but limited.

    All the best.!!
