    hello
    if you want to become a engineer then you must have to choose maths and physics subjects.
    if you become a software developer then you can choose commerce as well as arts stream also with computer subject.
    if you want to become engineer then you have to take engineering entrance exam after appearing or passed 12th class.
    In engineering course you should have to choose CS branch.
    if you want to become software development then you can choose any stream in 12th class with computer subject.
    after that you have to done BCA or B.sc(IT).
    after complete one of these you will Do MCA or M.Sc(IT).
    after that you will go for interview after selection you will become software developer.

    good luck

    Thumbs up Re: Is it compulsory to take science and maths subjects in 11th and 12th if want to become a software engineer?

    yes.!!
    it is mandatory to take maths and science subjects in 11th and 12th..
    these are some of the main responsibilities as software engineer:
    *Programming computer controls which are used to activate machinery in manufacturing industries
    *Working with a business analyst to develop a project development plan
    *Setting up new IT systems
    *Modifying IT systems already in use
    *Building administrative and database systems for offices
    *Writing documentation
    *Developing code
    *Programming a test model of a piece of software
    *Testing the model for compatibility and installation problems
    *Analysing test results
    *Fixing any technical problems that arise through the test
    *Installing a complete version of the software.......
    it is clear now that in order to become software engineer..you need to develop the code ...it means ..logical thinking is required..it can be possible for maths students...
    these are some the skills needed to become best software employee:
    ->An excellent working knowledge of hardware, software and programming languages (e.g. Javascript)
    ->The ability to develop and interpret technical plans
    ->A creative approach to problem solving
    ->An excellent understanding of CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tools
    ->Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    ->A good understanding of customer care
    ->Excellent interpersonal skills
    ->Good team working abilities
    ->The ability to explain complicated processes in non-technical language
    ->Good project management skills
    ->The ability to work to tight deadlines
    ->The ability to thrive under pressure
    ->An awareness and respect for confidentiality and data protection issues
    ->The ability to concentrate for long periods of time....
    you can take PCM in intermediate or DIPLOMA after tenth and enter into engineering of computer science and later can do MCA,MCS,MS,MSC........hope now you got the idea..so, please dont neglect maths in any case.......all the best good luck..!!
