    NO. Not at all. For applying to UPSC CSE you need to have any Graduation degree from recognized institute of India. And B.Tech is compulsory only if you want to choose engineering subject in mains examination and only these branches Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics & communication.

    Hope you are doing well.

    No it is not necessary to have a B.Tech degree to give the civil services examination.

    The eligibility criteria for the exam are as follows:-

    1.you should be an INDIAN citizen

    2.you should hold a degree in any discipline from any recognised university.

    3.you should have attained the age of 21years and should not have crossed the age of 30 years.

    The relaxations for reserved categories in age are as follows:-

    obc-3years

    sc/st-5years

    So it is compulsory to hold a degree and it need not be necessarily a B.Tech degree.

    Civil Service Exam is conducted by UPSC in every year .This exam is conduct for various post like -IAS ,IPS ,IFS etc .

    Those candidate have completed graduation degree from recognized university are eligible for Civil Service Exam .Final year student are applicable for Civil Service Exam .

    No , there is no such type of criteria to complete Engineering degree before civil service exam , If you have completed graduation degree then you are applicable for UPSC Civil service exam .

    The Minimum age should be for civil service exam is 21 years and the maximum age criteria is 30 years old.. Age Relaxation for OBC candidate is 3 years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.


    The maximum no of attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.


    Civil Service Exam is consist of 3 process - Preliminary Exam . Mains Exam and Personal Interview .

    Friend you want to give civil service exam.
    You can sit in this exam.
    This exam is conducted by UPSC every year for IAS,IPS,IES etc.
    It is not compulsory to do B.Tech for civil service exam.
    Any student who are graduate in any subject from a recognized University can give civil service exam.
    Some eligibility criteria for civil services exam are following:-
    Only Indian candidate is eligible to give this exam
    Candidate should pass or appear in graduation exam
    Age criteria for civil services exam,
    Minimum 21 years and the maximum age 30 years old.
