No friend , Graduation is not a Compulsory Degree required for appearing CA-CPT .

CA-CPT stands for Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test which is conducted for enrolling the candidates into CA course and its related courses .

The Eligibility Criteria for this CA-CPT are like :

You must be passed Inter in commerce background from the Recognized University .
You must have min of 50% as an aggregate in your Inter i.e 10+2 .
You can also be an Graduate from Recognized University in Commerce Background .
You can also appear if you are in Final Year of your Graduation .
There is no age limits for appearing this examination .

So as per this criteria , you need not to be an Graduate for appearing for CA-CPT Examination .

The exam is conducted in two modes :

Paper Pencil Mode of Examination & Online Registration Mode of Examination .

The Paper Pencil Mode Examination is Commenced on 18th of December 2012 .

    Good Luck !!!

No, it is not necessary to do a graduation to write CA CPT examination. Even candidates who finished their class 10 examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or by the Central Government. And remember, CPT is open only for those who are registered in Institute of Chartered Accountants of India..!!! Hope the informations are useful!

    DEAR FRIEND.
CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY IS A PROFESSIONAL AND ONE OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS COURSES OF THE COUNTRY WHICH PROVIDE AN INSIGHT INTO THE CONCEPTS OF AUDITING, TAXATION AND ACCOUNTS. THE CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT OF FINANCES AND TAXES IN DIFFERENT COMPANIES.
THE COURSE IS ON A VERY HIGH DEMAND IN INDIA ALSO AND GLOBALLY DUE TO THE EMERGING OF NEW PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR COMPANIES IN DIFFERENT AREAS THUS EACH ONE REQUIRING A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT.

THIS COURSE IS PROVIDED BY ONE OF THE LARGEST GOVT RUN CA INSTITUTES CALLED AS THE INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA(ICAI). THE INSTITUTE OFFERS THE COURSE IN THE FORM OF THREE EXAMS:
    1. CPT EXAM: IT IS OPEN FOR THE 10+2 PASSED OR APPEARING CANDIDATES IN ANY DISCIPLINE. YOU CAN REGISTER FOR THE EXAM AFTER 10TH ITSELF AND GIVE THE EXAM AFTER THE 10+2. THE EXAM IS NOT AT ALL COMPULSARY AND CAN BE EXEMPTED FOR THE GRADUATES TAKING YOU TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

    2. IPCC: IT IS THE SECOND STAGE AND ADMISSION IS GIVEN DIRECTLX TO THIS COURSE IF YOU ARE A COMMERCE GRADUATE WITH 55 PERCENT MARKS OR NON COMMERCE GRADUATE WITH 60 PERCENT MARKS.

    3. FINAL COURSE: THIS COURSE IS COMPULSARY AND CAN BE ACCESSED ONLY AFTER CLEARING THE IPCC. ALSO IT IS FOLLOWED BY 100 HOURS OF TTI AND COMPUTER SESSIONALS.

SO THAT MEANS CA CPT DOESNOT REQUIRE YOU TO BE A GRADUATE. YOU CAN REGISTER AND GIVE THE EXAM AFTER 10+2 ITSELF. AND IF YOU WANT THEN YOU CAN EXEMPT IT AFTER COMPLETING YOUR GRADUATION WITH 60 PERCENT AND TAKE A DIRECT ENTRY INTO THE IPCC LEVEL.

THE PROSPECTUS AND OTHER RELEVANT INFO CAN BE HAD FROM ICAI WEBSITE:

Re: Is it compulsory to do graduation in order to enroll for CA CPT Entrance?

    Hai friend
it is not neccessary to graduate in order to enroll for CA CPT EXAM
intermediate with any group with 60% is the minimum qualification for CA CPT exam
total CA course is divided into mainly 3 sections
1.in first section you have to write CPT exam
2.in 2nd section you have to write IPCC
3.in 3rd section you have to write final CA exam
if you are graduate in B.COM you can directly write IPCC exam, you can skip CPT examd
before applying for CPT first you should be registered
    ALL THE BEST
