Re: Colleges for part time m.tech in mechanical engineering

As per the Indian Government Human Resources Ministry and AICTE guidelines, no university is allowed to offer M.Tech course through distance education. It is always better to do M.Tech as a regular course or part time course from a very good university and state colleges, or secure admission into M.Tech and MS by Research course in IITs, NITs.

It is possible to get in to IITs with out GATE scores. There are currently two options offered by IITs - Sponsored candidate and Quality improvement program (QIP). The QIP will allow faculty members with three year plus experience, to join the program. This will suit you as for you are already a lecturer.

The intake criteria vary from university to university. Some universities conduct their own test and some consider GATE score. Some universities offering part time courses are IITís, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, New Delhi, Karnataka State Open University etc.

Re: Colleges for part time m.tech in mechanical engineering

Since you are already working as a lecturer, Mtech is good option to enhance your career prospects. However the no institute in India is permitted by the Government to offer MTech as a distance education course. You can pursue the course as a part or a full time course. The part time course classes are generally held in the evenings. So it will be better for you select an institute which close to your place of work or stay.
Since you have not mentioned where you are located suggesting institutes is difficult. In general courses are offered by many institutes like IIT, NIT, Manipal Institute of Technology, Indian Statistical Institute.

Thereafter, I have worked in a Manufacturing Industry till Jul 2011. Now I am working as a Asst Professor in an Engineering College. Is my Master Degree in Engineering Management is equivalent to ME/M Tech of Indian Universities and sufficient for my present job or I have to pass ME or M Tech (Mechanical) from any Indian Universities ? Is there any University conducting Part time ME/M Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering Course in Kerala ?

This is a valid course and acceptable by all the academics and government organizations.
    eligibility:
    1. 60% in B.Tech
    2. 3 years work experience.
