CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam

CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam is the examination organized by the Christian Medical College for the admission of eligible students in MBBS and other undergraduate medical courses. The admission to paramedical courses offered in the institute is also done through this examination. The CMC is one of the leading medical institutions in Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. This examination is an All India level examination held in different parts of the country.

Structure and Pattern of CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam

The CMC Vellore MBBS examination is organized every by the institute, normally in the month of May. All students who wish to get admission to MBBS in this college must appear for this written examination. The final selection will be given based on their performance in written test and interview. This examination includes objective type questions and each question has four or five choices. The duration of this written examination is 3 hours and 10 minutes. The questions are included from the following topics

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology
• General ability
• Issues of current topical interest

There will be 60 questions each for Physics, Chemistry and Biology for 120 minutes and another 120 questions on General ability and issues on current topical issues. The general ability section focuses on the speed and accuracy of the students. The time allotted to answer this section is 70 minutes. The syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Biology is taken from the 11th and 12th level academics. Students are required to mark the accurate answer on the OMR answer sheet from the multiple choices given for each question.

Qualification Criteria for CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam

To appear for the CMC Vellore MBBS entrance examination, all students must possess the qualification and eligibility criteria as prescribed by the institution. All applicants should have attained a minimum age of 17 years at the time of this examination. They must have secured a pass in the higher secondary examination of Tamil Nadu examination board or its equivalent with biology, physics and chemistry. The minimum percentage required in this examination should be at least 60%.

The application form for this examination can be obtained through three modes, through official website of CMC, by post from the registrar of CMC and from any designated head post offices. The application fee to be remitted is Rs.750/-. The prospectus is also available with this form.
