yes chemistry is compulsory if you want to complete your bsc with physics.there are two option to complete bsc as

    1) bio,chemistry,physics

    2) maths,chemistry, physics

first option is generally selected by students who have completed their 12th class with bio, chemistry and physics. While second option is selected by students of mathemetics in class 12th. i don't know why you have asked this question, there may be two reason
    1) either you are interested in chemistry
    2) or you are not interested in chemistry.

if you are interested in chemistry then you can easily complete your bsc.remember that this is a pure science subject so you need to understand concepts properly.this field is different from engineering.if you are not interested in chemistry then you should select maths/physics/bio in your msc,but you have to complete your bsc with chemistry.DELHI UNIVERSITY is best option for bsc in science.you can apply for INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE,banglore ,where you will find india's most of the scientists.but here you have to do BS not bsc..................................end
