Career Options in Electronics after B.Sc. (Electronics, Physics and Maths)

I am doing B.Sc. with Physics, electronics and maths as main subjects. I want to do M.Sc. in electronics so I would like to know which IITs and NITs offer M.Sc. in electronics and in detail what is the procedure for admission to these courses. I would also like to know about other career options available to me after B.Sc. or M.Sc.

For studying Postgraduate courses in IITs, one needs to appear JAM (Msc) Entrance exam. Most of the IITís and NITís offer M.Sc courses only in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. In addition to this some IITís also offers subjects like Geophysics, Statistics and Informatics etc.
Some of the institutes that offer M.Sc electronics course are BITS Pilani, Aligarh Muslim University, Jagruti Degree & P.G. College, Osmania University, P.B. Sidhartha College, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Sai Sudhir pg college, Osmania University, College of Engineering,Guindy, Anna University.
After BSc (PEM) one can either continue studies with Post Graduation like MBA
MSc, MCM, MCA , MMM (Master's of Marketing Management) and Part time Diploma Courses (DTL,PGDMM,PGDCM).

Or start a career in areas like Technician Trainee in Manufacturing Industry (MIDC), Medical Representative in Pharmaceutical Industry, Customer Service Executive or Sales Executive in Telecom, Banking, Insurance and BPO. Also there is another option that is to join army, navy through (CDS) Combined Defence Service Exam.

The IITs and NITs do not offer M Sc in Electronics. The only M Sc courses offered are for physics, chemistry and maths. Course like geology, geophysics, operational research, biotechnology, environmental science, etc are also offered. You need to clear the Joint Admission Test to secure admission. If you wish to pursue electronics, then M Sc is the best option. There are many other colleges that offer this course. If you are open to other options, you can think of MCA or MBA. The one thing that you need to keep in mind when opting for any course is that there are lots of institutes that offer these courses. Find out the best colleges and work hard to get admission to them.

But at many places on internet I've read that IIT Delhi offers M.Sc. in electronics. I've just not been able to get details of admission procedure.

Is going for courses like MCA or MBA better option than M.Sc. electronics?

    Dear,

You have lot of options after completing your BSC in chemistry. Firstly I would suggest you that you can do MSC in chemistry. Other wise you have lot of other options to start you career , such as:
    m.sc (biochemistry)
    m.sc (bioinformatics)
    m.sc (chemistry)
    m.sc. (applied chemistry)

Re: Career Options in Electronics after B.Sc. (Electronics, Physics and Maths)

    FRIEND,

*You can opt for B.E./B.Tech after B.Sc. IT but wonít be able to pursue master degree (M.Tech) after B.Sc. IT so it would be better to choose MCA or M.Sc. IT course as you have good knowledge of computer hardware and networking then after completing your MCA or M.Sc. IT you can opt for M.Tech in Computer Science course.

*Hence, we would advice to analyze your interests and aptitude for various domains and your future desire and then make a choice between courses.

    Good luck!!!
