    ARS/NET - Agricultural Research Services/National Eligibility Test

    ARS/NET is a national eligibility test conducted by Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) every year to recruit the post of scientits in ARS !!

    ARS/NET exam contains;
    Prelims and
    Main exams

    Structure of ARS/NET::
    You have to write a "Written Test"
    The written test consists of both preliminary and Main test. Those who qualify the Preliminary Test will be called for the Main Exam. The preliminary test consists of objective type questions carries 200 marks.
    The duration of the exam will be of two and a half hours.
    The main exam consists of descriptive questions which carries 240 marks and you should write within three hours. If you passed the main exam will be called for a Viva-Voce test. The marks awarded for the test is 60 marks. If you clear the entire tests will be recruited in ICAR institutes!!!

    Eligibility Criteria for ARS/NET:
    You should have a Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subjects from a recognized University can apply for the preliminary tests.
    If you are qualified the preliminary exams can apply for the Main exams
    Age limit :
    You should be between 21 and 32 years. The ICAR employees have provided with an age relaxation of 13 years.

    Application Procedure for ARS/NET:

    The application forms will be available in the official website of ICAR www.icar.org.in.
    You can download the application form from the website. You should have to send a Demand Draft(DD) of Rs.1000/- in favor of The Secretary of ASRB in New Delhi with the application form.
    There is no application fee for SC/ST candidates and women aspirants!!!
    You can also submit the application website through the website.

    Syllabus for ARS/NET::

    The Preliminary test consists of two parts of 200 questions. First part includes 50 questions from the topic of General knowledge. Second part consists of 150 questions from the professional subjects according to the specialization of your branch or stream.The Main test consists of descriptive type questions from the subjects which are selected by you!!

    If you are qualified in ARS/NEt then you are eligible for the post of "Lectures in State Agricultural Universities".

    Scope of ARS/NET :

    You can go for high salary packages through out India or abroad if you do well in this..! And this course is growing like mashroom in India these days..!

    As far as I consider, ARS/NET has these 3 good qualities - Within a short time you can have a good future within a least cost..! So, you need not to worry about the future in this exam.. Just go on with your interest and have number of opportunities..!

    ARS NET Examination is Conducted by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) Every Year.

    This examination is Conducted for determining eligibility for recruitment of Lecturers and Assistant Professor. To apply for this examination, you have to complete your Mater degree course in Agricultural
    Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Fisheries Sciences, Agricultural Engineering and Technology form a recognised Board.

    Age Limit:

    For ARS: Your age should between 21 to 32 years

    For NET: You must have attained the age of 21 years. Upper Age relaxation is available for candidates those who belong to SC/ST/OBC and Persons with Disabilities.

    This examination is Conducted in 2 Stages, Preliminary ARS/NET Examination and Main Examination.

    Those who completed the Preliminary examination are eligible for Main Examination.

    The examination fees of ARS/NET Examination was Rs 1000 and you have to pay the fees through a Crossed Bank Draft only, drawn in favour of Secretary, A.S.R.B. and payable at New Delhi with the application form.

    In ARS Main examination there will be one paper of 240 marks with 3 hourís duration and the
    questions from each discipline will be subjective. So, Please prepare well for Preliminary Examination Only then you are eligible to appear for Main examination.

    Preliminary Examination ARS/NET Pattern :

    Part A - Objective Type, and in this section consists of 50 General Knowledge questions based on the seven groups of Agriculture and Allied Sciences.

    Part B - Objective Type, and in This section consists of 150 questions from the professional subject.
