Re: Can technical background students appear for the Law Entrance Exam?

If you weren’t interested in Engineering, then why did you opt for the same? Your problem is not that you are not interested in the course. But you are not able to stick on to the same. Now, if you are opting for Law courses also, you should be able to carry on with it. Otherwise, your mind may fluctuate. Try to know about the curriculum of the Law course, think, and decide whether you can do the same. Since you are an intermediate, you can pursue the 5 year LLB course. Many Law institutes offer the course. They conduct their own entrance tests also for selecting aspirants who are eligible to pursue the course. CLAT is a National level Law entrance test. Through the test, you can join the reputed Law institutes in India. Intermediates in any disciple with an aggregate score of 50% marks can appear for the test.

It is better for you to quit the course if you are not interest .Engineering course is not like other course if you don't have interest and dedication towards the course you will be big failure in this course .Since you are interested in the Law ,you can select it ,but once you have selected it don't turn back .Show maximum interest and dedication in the course .If you want to do the law course you have to appear for the Law entrance exam .Most of time the Law colleges themselves conduct the exams .once you passed the exam there will be an interview ,if you pass in all the test then you will be selected for the coaching .
You have to show maximum interest in the subject and study it regularly with dedication you will surely success ...

If you are not interested in engineering field then you really have to quit because no one can read in pressure mentally stress increases, you want to make your carrier in law as takin technical degree dear this duration takes too much time but you can do if you like and according to me these 2 fields are too differ each other so no chances of interconnection which helps you further,so without any hesitation you must givethe national law entrance exam ,so best of luck

Being not interested in Engineering why you had opted for that is not understandable by me. Why such a big mistake you have done.

However, be thankful to GOD that there is an excellent opportunity for you being a an Engineer in Law sector. Since after completion of your course you wanted to opt for Law 'Patent and Intellectual Property Law' is your destination.

    What's that?

Each year hundreds of inventions and discoveries and design are made, and the company or the person who is inventing, discovering etc. need to Patent that invention, discovery etc. before its industrialization or commercialization. Take "Tata Nano" as our example when the Enginer (Girish Wagh) would have designed and prepared model for it, he through Company has to patent it first then only he can proceed further to transform it into reality. PAtent is the process which looks care of such inventions etc. and building a legal room for it like- copy right, law protected etc. and the whole process governing the Paptent system is 'Intellectual Property Law'.

Courses in Patent and Intellectual property are meant for Engineers, Science graduates, Scientist etc. because it a perfect combination of Technology and Science with that of Law. Engineers will be responsible of checking the once Patent if that invention is true scientifically and doesn't copied from any similar technology etc.

It is highly lucrative career option both in India and Abroad.

After completion of your B.E./B.Tech you can opt for various courses in this. Some of the best courses are as follows:-
    • Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Management (9 months course)
    • Executive Post Graduate Programme in Patent Protection, Enforcement and Management.
Institute:- Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP)
    Details:- http://www.giipinfo.com/our-programs.aspx

    • Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law (PGDIPL) it a 18 months long course.
    • LLB in Intellectual Property it is 3 years long course.

    • One Year Post Graduate Masters in IP Diploma
    Institute: IGNOU
