NET stands for National Eligibility Test and is conducted two times in a year.

And you are not eligible without doing PG. You must have a PG in your background to write NET exams, so if you have secured at least 55% marks in your Masterís Degree OR equivalent examination from recognised universities, then you are eligible to apply for NET.
    >>You must have completed Mater degree(PG) in any steam from recognized university
    >>You must pass your PG with minimum of 55% marks
    >>50% for ST/SC/PH/Females
    >>Final year students are also eligible

There are 2types of Posts in NET:
    1)Lectureship post(LS)
    2)Junior Research Fellowship(JRF)

The Test is conducted in the following:
    - Humanities (including languages)
    - Social Sciences
    - Forensic Science
    - Environmental Sciences
    - Computer Science and Applications
    - Electronic Science

    NET eligibility criteria:-

For giving UGC NET u need to have a master Degree. You can choose any subject from your master degree.UGC NET consists of three papers
    1) General studies (50 objective questions)
    2) Your optional paper (50 objective questions)
    3) Your optional paper (Subjective questions)

    For Junior Research Fellowship-max 28yrs.
    For lectureship-no upper age limit.

Thus you need to complete your master degree first with minimum 55% to sit for the exam.

No you cannot appear for the NET exam after completing B.Sc. Only post graduates are eligible to apply for this exam. B.Sc holders are eligible for teaching in the school level on completing B.Ed. Post graduates are eligible to apply for lecture post on clearing NET. 55% marks is a must to appear for the exam. Also you have to appear for the subject based on the post graduation specialisation. You can appear for this exam in second year of post graduation if you will have your results by the time the NET results are declared.
