    Can I take up AFCAT while pursuing 3rd year engineering? If yes, How can I apply for this?

    i am doing my 3rd year engineering can i take up AF CAT now?? how should i apply for it sir

    Hi,
    Sorry to tell you that you are not eligible to apply for AFCAT as you still pursuing 3rd year of B.TECH
    you should be a graduate or atleast you should be pursuing your final year of B.TECH

    Here is eligibility criteria for your reference ,

    you can apply in the given following branch=

    1)technical branch

    2)flying branch

    3)ground duty branch



    eligibility=

    Education qualification=bachelor degree in any subjects/ bachelor of engineering/bachelor of technology

    -should had got 60% in subjects(over all)

    -Age limit=

    a)19-23 year(flying branch)

    b)18-28years(technical branch)

    c)20-27years(ground duty branch)

    Height=

    a)both male and female=162.5cm( flying branch)

    b)technical and ground duty branch

    -men=157.5mc

    -women=152.5cm

    -Should be medically fine in all aspects

    -should have normal hearing

    make sure that the applicants must reach the eligibility standards..otherwise it will leads to disqualification

    AFCAT - Air Force Common Admission Test

    Yes,you can apply for the AFCAT Exam

    There are 3 branches in AFCAT which you can choose and you must satisfy the eligibility for the respected branch:

    >> Ground Duty Branch
    >> Technical Branch
    >> Flying Branch



    As regarding your qualification you can only apply for Ground Duty and Flying Branch


    Ground Duty Branch:

    Candidate should have a age limit of 20-27 years and should have done a degree from a recognized university with 60% aggregate

    Flying Branch:

    Candidate should have a age limit of 19-23 years and should have done a B.E/B.Tech degree from a recognized university with 60% aggregate


    If you satisfy all these criteria's then you can apply for the AFCAT exam

    You cannot appear for the AFCAT exam while you are in the third year of engineering .

    Those who are in the Final year of engineering can appear for the AFCAT Exams.

    AFCAT 2012 Date: 26th February, 2012

    01. Flying Branch

    No. 11 SSC for Men
    No. 40 SSC for Women

    Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any subject area with 60% Marks from a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology of 4 years with 60% Marks. Candidates must be passed 12th Examination with Maths and Physics

    Age Limit: Between 19 and 23 years as on 01/01/2013. Those candidates holding valid Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA will be relaxed in age upto 25 years

    Physical Standard: (Male & Female) – Height – 162.5, with correlated weight Vision – 6/6 and 6/9

    02. Technical Branch

    No. 82 AEC (Permanent Commission) and No. 54 SSC for Men
    No. 54 SSC for Women

    Qualifications: Degree Qualifications of 4 years from a recognized University for AE (L) and AE (M). Final year of 4 years Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor Technology from a recognized University for AE (L) and (M) UES-2013 Entry

    Age: 18 to 28 years as on 01/07/2013

    Physical Standard: Height (Men) – 157.5 cms, (Women) – 152 cms with correlated weight

    03. Ground Duty Branches

    No. 133 GDOC (Permanent Commission) and No. 26 SSC for Men
    No. 42 SSC for Women

    Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any subject area with 60% Marks or PG Degree or equivalent diploma in any subject area with 50% Marks

    Age: Between 20 to 23, 20 to 25, 20 to 26 and 20 to 27 years as on 01/01/2013 as per Qualifications

    Physical Standard: Height (Men) – 157.5 cms, (Women) – 152 cms with correlated weight

    Those who qualify in this test will be called for further test which will be done in three stages

    Stage-I: Intelligence Test
    Stage-II: Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview,
    Stage-III Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).

    AFCAT Scheme of Syllabus:

    It will have 100 questions of three marks each. and one mark will be deducted under negative marking for the wrong answer. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.

    PAPER will have questions from the topics.

    (a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.

    (b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

    (c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

    (d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

    >>You have the P.G or Bachelor's degree in any subject with at least 60% and The Age should between 20 -27 yrs.

    Sorry to say that 3rd year of B-Tech student are not applicable for AFCAT exam .But if you have completed B-Tech degree or final year of B-TECH degree then you are applicable for AFCAT exam.

    Details of this exams are given below-

    EDUCATIONAL AND AGE CRITERIA FOR AFCAT EXAM:-

    1.Flying branch :-


    Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade, but must have maths and physics in 12th..


    Candidates age should be in between 19-23 years.


    2.Technical branch:-


    Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field.


    Age should be in between 18-28 years.


    3.Ground duty branch:-


    Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade.


    Age should be in between 20-27 years.


    PHYSICAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR AFCAT EXAM:-
