Its good that you score 98% in maths and i appreciate you for it. But you must definetely choose PCM group in 11th class to become a software engineer.The following are the more details about it :

• To get into engineering you must definetely take physics and chemistry along with maths.
• Commerce play no role in engineering field mostly.

For an entry into engineering you need to appear for the following entrance exams :

• IIT-JEE
• AIEEE
• CET OF REGIONAL STATES

For qualifying in this exam you must definetely have physics and chemistry because the syllabus of this exam is :

• MATHEMATICS - 2 STREAMS
• PHYSICS
• CHEMISTRY

The eligibility criteria is also very strict :
ELIGIBILITY :

• You should have 17 or more than 17 years.
• You should have passed 12 class with a minimum of 55%.
• You should have done your 12th class with the combination of physics , mathematics and chemistry.

So, better be prepared throughly with physics and chemistry because your dream is a step ahead just a small compromise with two subjects....

As per seeing your question I can tell you that For this you have to ask In your School.I mean to say that you have to ask from them that, whether there is option for the optional subject in your school or not.If there is presence and as you are telling that You are not Interested in the Science field, and Only Interested in the mathematics field So you can Opt Commerce subject and Optional subject MATHEMATICS.But for this you have to check in your Institute/school for the optional subject.You can go to the HOD of the Commerce and Mathematics and tell them your problem they will help you and suggest you foe the Optional subject.

Yes, you can take Commerce Stream in 10+1 and 10+2 with Mathematics as an Additional Subject.

But, you can take additional subject in Maths only when your School allows you to do it.

However, there is rule to take any subject as an additional subject whether it is Maths, Physics, etc.

to become a software engineer its better to prefer a computerscience in 11th class rather than a commerce becoz its completely accounts based software engineer needs to be good in programming languages such as
c,c#,java etc

Dear Friend,
even though a 98% marks in math sounds awesome, you just cannot become a software engineer if you choose commerce stream in your high school.

The reason is that to do engineering of any discipline, it is mandatory that you should have studied physics, chemistry, and maths/ biology in your 11th and 12th.

So i suggest you just take MPC. Dont worry it isnt that hard.

For doing engineering courses you must take PCm in 12th
if you take commerce in 12th then you can do computer related degree only like

There is no possible to take maths and commerce in 11th to become a software engineer in future. To become a software engineer we have to take maths and computer science in 11th. Computer science is an important one. We learn more in computer science, which is useful to become software engineer in future.
