You can surely study CA course with out appearing for CPT exam. The basic eligibility for joining the intermediate course is to have completed graduation from a recognized university. The candidates who have scored less than 55% marks in graduation have to take up CACPT exam. Since you have score 74% marks you can directly join for the intermediate course. Once you clear the intermediate course you can join for the final course. Before joining the final course it is necessary to undergo a training of 25 days in Information Technology from ICAI specified institutes. There will be 8 papers in the final course. The candidates have to obtain 40% marks in all the papers and should have an aggregate of 50% marks to pass the final course. You have to register with ICAI after clearing the final course.

    Hi ,
Yes ,you can study CA course without appearing in CPT.
The Central Council has approved the new announcement of allowing a Graduate student (B.com, B.Sc., BBA,etc) to directly join the IPCC(Integrated Professional Competence course) course without writing CA-CPT Exam. The council announced that the eligibility criteria for the graduates to write IPCC directly is as under .

    1. for a Commerce Graduate 55% minimum marks.
    2. for a Non-Commerce Graduate 60% minimum marks.

As you hvae completed B.com with 74% you can go directly to IPCC.

    Hi ,
You are scored very nice in B.COM.
you can join CA course directly without giving the CPT exams .
one must have to clear the CPT exams as it is the preliminary stage for IPCC.

As it is not clearly mentioned by institute of charted accountants officially"-

It was said earlier that anyone is eligible to join IPCC without CPT exam,,, if only:-

If you are a graduate from commerce and secured 55% marks.
If you are a graduate of science, arts and secured 60% marks.

So as you have 74% in B.com You can appear ca course .
