    Can I join Indian Army being a commerce student?

    hello sir/mam
    I am a commerce student , can i join indian navy?

    Yes even candidates from commerce background can apply for a job in the army. You will be eligible under the OTA scheme. You need to appear for the UPSC exam. If you clear the exam you will be appointed under the short service commission. You can apply for the post of laison officer, accounts section, storekeeper etc. Both married and unmarried candidates can apply. The training is conducted in Chennai and the duration of the training is 49 weeks.

    dear friend,

    i am sorry to inform you that you are not able to join Indian Army as for being a commerce student you do not have studied Physics and Mathematics in 10+2 level.A student must have to study Physics and Mathematics in his 10+2 level to join Indian Army.

    DEAR you mus have 10+2 with 70% of aggregate marks in
    • physics,
    • chemistry,
    • and maths
    to get eligible as you are a commerce student you are not eligible for Indian army,,
    not only education you must follow other eligibility detail like
    technical entry scheme
    if you are a male candidate than you have to pass 10+2 with
    • physics,
    • chemistry,
    • maths
    and fulfill the eligibility for the grant of permanent commission in the army after 5 years of technical military training with prescribed terms and conditions,
    you should be unmarried and you should be Indian ,your age should be exactly 16 and half or more than that.
    your height must be 137 cms with correlated weight, and your chest with minimum expansion of 5 cms,
    eyesight=6/12,6/18.
    you can enter into the Indian army through various procedures:

    nda entry
    month of commencement of course each year is January and July.
    age at the time of joining is: you age must be 16 to 19 years of age .
    education qualification:you mus have 10+2 with 70% of aggregate marks in physics,chemistry,and maths,
    selection procedure:selection is done through NDA exam which was conducted by the UPSC and SSB interview.
    direct entry
    month of commencement of course each year is January and July.
    age at the time of joining is: you age must be 19 to 24 years of age .
    education qualification:you mus have degree of recognized university.
    selection procedure:selection is done through CDSE exam conducted by the UPSC and SSB interview.
    if you are a engineering graduate than,
    month of commencement of course each year is January and July.
    age at the time of joining is: you age must be 20 to 27 years of age .
    education qualification: you must have engineering degree .
    selection procedure:selection is done through SSB interview.
    university entry scheme:
    month of commencement of course each year is July.
    age at the time of joining is: you age must be 19 to 25 years of age if yo are in final year,and 18-24 if yo are in pre final year.
    education qualification: you are eligible if you are in final and pre final year in your engineering degree course.
    selection procedure:selection is through campus interview and SSB interview,
    Indian army is unique and dignified career and you have various categories of entry like
    • soldier general duty,
    • soldier technical,
    • soldier clerk,store keeper technical,
    • soldier nursing assistant,
    • soldier tradesman,
    • surveyor auto carto,
    • soldier ,
    • havildar,
    • JCO,
    for all the above requirements you must have 10+2 to qualify,soldier general duty you must have SSLC/matric with 45% marks.and for the soldiers if you are non matric student than also you are eligible for this exam, your age limit must be 17-23 years.

    Being a Commerce stream candidate your definitely eligible for " Indian Army Academy "

    You have not mention your educational Qualification here ..

    If your an 12th standard candidate than you may appear in NDA ( National Defence Academy ) which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission ..

    If your an Bachelor degree candidates than you may appear in CDS ( Combined Defence Academy ) which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission ..


    To appear in NDA Examination, the applicant should be possess 12th standard in any discipline from recognized University . Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Examination ..

    There is no Minimum Percentage of marks required for this Examination .. Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible for this Examination ..

    Applicant Must attained the age 16.5 years and Should not attained the age of 19 years at the time of appearing the Entrance Examination ..

    To appear in CDS Examination , the Applicant should be hold Graduation in any desire specialization from recognized University . Those who are appearing final semester may also eligible to apply for this Examination ..

    Age should be Minimum 19 years and Maximum 24 years at the time of appearing the CDS Examination .. Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to appearing the Entrance Examination .

    So, Based on your Qualification and Age limit you may apply for any one of the entrance examination ..
