    Hello fiend,
Actually your question is not too clear about your query, but for your query, I want to inform you that you cannot give IES exam in CSE. You have to select any one branch out of four branches, as it is mentioned in IES prospectus.

-> Preliminary Examination would consist of two papers- Paper I and Paper II.
Syllabus for CSAT as proposed by UPSC
    (Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs....
    ->(Paper II) (200 marks) – Duration : Two hrs
->The final interview is of 300 marks.

Every candidate is asked for his preferences in civil services. Mostly choose IAS but a few also choose Indian Foreign Service.
The entire selection process lasts 15-20 months.

The Prelims includes 2 papers of two hundred scores equally common to all applicants.
    Questions on
    -Indian polity
    - current affairs
    - GK
    - Indian History
    - Geography

If you have completed your B.E(Bachelor of Engineering), then you are eligible to appear for IAS(Indian Administrative services)
or CSE(Civil services exam).Actually the minimum qualification that a person requires in order to appear for this exam is
that he or she must have a graduation degree. And apart from that you have mentioned that you have also done a diploma
in computer science. The CSE exam is conducted in three stages which can be mentioned as follows:
    1)Preliminary exam-
This is an objective exam but there also you are required to select subjects depending on your choice.
The exam is usually conducted in the month of May and the results are declared after two months.

    2)Mains examination-
This is the second level. Here also you would be required to select subjects according to your preference.
Generally the students choose a subject that they have already studied in their graduation as they have
a background knowledge in that subject.

    3)Personal interview-
This is the third and the final stage. And only a few candidates are able to reach to this stage.
The interviewer would ask you questions based on your knowledge, understanding and competency.
