    Can I give IIT JAM Entrance exam after completing B.Sc with Chemistry,Botany,Zoology in order to pursue my career in research field?

    i 'm doing bsc with [chemistry ,botany, zoology] and i want to persue my career in research field .so after
    passing my bsc can i give iit jam entrance exam .please guide

    Hey dude, the Indian Institutes of Technology conducts Joint Admission test to M.Sc. (JAM) for admission into M.Sc. and other post-B.Sc. programmes at the IITs.

    you are eligible if you have atleast 55% in your B.Sc.

    In the present world,JAM isa benchmark for normalising undergraduate level science education in the country.

    the programmes are designed to provide the students opportunities to develop academic talent leading to challenging and rewarding professional life.

    Application:

    >Last date for issue of application forms and information brochures at Bank counters- 22 October 2011 (Saturday)
    >Last date for Online Registration - 25 October 2011 (Tuesday)
    >Date of JAM 2012 Test- 12 February 2012 (Sunday)
    >Announcement of the result of JAM 2012- 10 April 2012

    JAM exam is conducted by IITs to give admission in masters degree courses of science subjects.JAM is conducted every year.

    Yes my friend you can appear for IIT JAM exam.

    Educational Qualifications:

    There are so many courses offered through JAM some of them are following.

    M.Sc. Applied Geology (IITB, IITR)/ Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Geology (IITKgp)/ M.Tech. Geological Technology (IITR)/ M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree programme in Applied Geology (IITB): Bachelorís degree with Geology as a subject for three years/six semesters and any two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biological Science. The candidate must have Mathematics at (10+2) level.

    M.Sc. Applied Geophysics (IITB)/ M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree programme in Applied Geophysics (IITB): Bachelorís degree with both Mathematics and Physics as subjects for two years and at least one of them as a subject for three years.

    M.Sc. Applied Statistics and Informatics (IITB)/ M.Sc. Statistics (IITK)/ Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Mathematics (IITKgp.)/ M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Operations Research (IITB):Bachelorís degree with either Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for at least two years or four semesters.

    M.Sc. Biotechnology (IITB, IITR)/M.Sc.ĖPh.D. Dual Degree in Biotechnology (IITB):Bachelorís degree in any branch of Science/ Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary / Engineering / Medicine (MBBS).

    M.Sc. Chemistry (IITB, IITD, IITG, IITH, IITK, IITM, IITR)/ Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Chemistry (IITKgp):Bachelorís degree with Chemistry as a subject for three years/six semesters and Mathematics at (10+2) level.

    M.Sc. Mathematics (IITB, IITD, IITK, IITM)/ M.Sc. Mathematics and Computing (IITG)/ M.Sc. Applied Mathematics (IITR)/ M.Sc. Industrial Mathematics and Informatics (IITR): Bachelorís degree with Mathematics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters.

    M.Sc. Physics (IITB, IITD, IITG, IITH, IITK, IITM, IITR)/ Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Physics (IITKgp)/ M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Physics (IITB, IITK): Bachelorís degree with Physics as a subject for at least two years/ four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year/ two semesters.

    Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Geophysics (IITKgp): Bachelorís degree with any two subjects among Physics, Mathematics and Geology for three years/ six semesters.

    At least 55% aggregate marks for General / OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree. For candidates with letter grades / CGPA ( instead of percentage of marks ), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).

    I complete my B.Sc. in Botany with 59%. Am I eligible for JAM to join IIT?
