    Can I give IES exam after completing B.Tech in Biotechnology? If yes, Tell the schedule and syllabus for same?

    i have persued btech biotechnology can i eligible to give IES EXAM IN 2012. please tell me the schedule and syllabus for it on my email.id (brainstorming.gandhi2@gmail.com)

    >>Following is the eligibility criteria for IES(Indian engineering services) examination:
    -You should be a graduate in technology(B.Tech) or in engineering(BE) from a AICTE approved college.
    OR
    -You should be a master degree holder in any branch of science.
    >>IES examination requires your age to be in between 21 and 32 years.
    >>As your a b.tech degree holder you are eligible for the IES examinationa irrespective of your branch.
    >>But there are only 4 cadres in IES examination:
    I-Civil engineering
    II-Mechanical engineering
    III-Electrical engineering
    IV-Electronics and communication engineering

    Sorry to say that Bio Technology Department are not applicable for IES exam.

    IES stand for Indian Engineering Service .IES exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year.Only graduate engineer from recognized university are eligible.

    There is no percentage criteria for IES exam.

    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam
    1.Civil Engineering
    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering

    Msc degree equivalent with wireless communication, electronics, radio physics or radio engineering are applicable for IES exam.

    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

    Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

    Number of attempts for IES exam is
    For general student it is 4.
    And for OBC it is 7 times.
    And for SC/ST it is 9 time

    If you are from different departments then also you are eligible but you should take one of the above departments as exam.

    The exam schedule of IES exam is already announced.The details of the exam date is given below.

    LAST DATE RECEIPT APPLICATION:- 17.09.2012
    DATE OF EXAM:- 01.12.2012

    Sorry friend you are not eligible for IES after completing the B.TECH in Biotechnology.So the streams and the eligibility criteria for the IES is:

    To be eligible to appear for the IES you should be pursuing the engineering degree from the following branches.
    1. Civil Engineering
    2. Mechanical Engineering
    3. Electrical Engineering
    4. Electronics & Communications Engineering

    You must be a graduate from the above branches of engineering or in the final year of graduation of the course.

    Your age must be between 21 to 30 years and there is some relaxation in the age for the Reserved category candidates i.e 3 and 5 years for OBC and SC/ST respectively.A relaxation of 10years is given to Ex service man

    There are two papers conducted PAPER -I and PAPER- II and both the sections contain the Questions from your branch.

    IMPORTANT DATES ARE:
    • NAME OF THE EXAM:ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMINATION, 2012
    • DATE OF NOTIFICATION : 25.02.2012
    • LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS : 26.03.2012 (MONDAY)
    • DATE OF COMMENCEMENT OF EXAM : 15.06.2012 (FRIDAY)
    • DURATION OF THE EXAM: 03 DAYS

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Service exam.This exam is held once in year.And conducted by Union Public Service Commission to take qualified students into different engineering service post in government sector.

    To appear for Indian Engineering Service exam,you should have complete minimum graduation degree in Engineering of any one stream mentioned below that are
    >>Mechanical Engineering
    >>Civil Engineering
    >>Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering
    >>Electrical Engineering
    And your age should be between 21 to 30 years.

    As you have complete B.Tech in Biotechnology,you are not eligible for Indian Engineering Service exam.For more details go through this attachment.

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.

    To apply for this exam you nee to complete your graduation in engineering !

    You need to be citizen of India .

    You can also apply for this exam if you are in the final year of your engineering graduation.

    Your age need to be between 21 to 30 year`s.

    Age relaxation is only for reservation category students.

    You need to be mentally and physically fit .
