You would be happy to know that according to the new Lateral entry norms of AICTE,you are eligible to take admission under Lateral entry scheme in any Engineering College.Now Diploma holders and B.Sc Graduates are both eligible for direct second year admissions.
For getting admission directly in 2nd year,you need to clear an Entrance Test known as LEET(Lateral Engineering Entrance Test).
>>LEET is basically conducted by the University which allows Engineering admission through Lateral entry.So,you need to visit the official website of your State's Technical University for getting complete information about LEET.On the basis of LEET,you will get direct admission to 2nd year of Engineering,so the course duration for you will be 3 years instead of 4 years.
>>According to the new rules of AICTE,now every College which allows Lateral entry admission will have to reserve 20% of the total seats for Diploma holders which will get admission through Lateral entry.So,now you have more chances of getting admission in reputed Engineering College,you just need to take a high rank in the LEET.
Eligibility conditions for LEET:
- Diploma course must be completed by you from a recognized Institute or any State Board of Technical Education.
- Diploma course must be completed by you with a minimum of 60% marks.
- You must not have any backlogs left in the Diploma course.
- You must have completed your B.Sc course in any stream from a recognized University.
- Your age must not be more than 28 years.
According to the eligibility conditions,you are eligible for Lateral entry admission in Engineering.
