Re: Can I get admission for B.Tech in Mechanical engineering course after completing B.Tech in Aeronautical engineering?

    Hi Buddy,

The answer to your question is "YES"

M.Tech Stands for Master of Technology

After completion of your B.Tech you are eligible to pursue M.Tech, M.tech generally to a specialization in a field of study of your interest, there is no rule as such that u should not take a field that you have not studied. Mechanical has always been one of the most driving source of Life, Mechanical and Electrical are related to one other like buddies.

For getting admission into M. Tech with the specified Mechanical Engineering you have check whether there are colleges that have this course as specialization course.

The colleges which provide specialization in Mechanical Engineering are

    Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
    Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
    Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai
    Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati
    Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi
    Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela( Orissa )
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra( Haryana )

After completion of M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering you'll have to choose your career only on that as you have mastered that course, but if you are interested in Aeronautics you can shift to that side as well.

You will find many opportunities after your M.Tech if you choose Research side some of the research institutes are

    1. ISRO
    2. BARC
    3. DRDO
    4. DRDL

Mechanical engineering is used in our day to day life an interesting course that deals with Hydraulics Machinery, Motors, jets, etc... i hope you fulfill your dreams and achieve higher in your career.

    All the best.
