    Hi there!
    >>IITs does not have any lateral entry scheme.
    >>So you donot stand a chance to study at the IITs,sorry for that.
    >>To take lateral entry you have to qualufy LEET(lateral entry admisssion test)
    >>Here your course duration will be of 3 years.
    >>That means you will start from the 2nd year only.
    >>10% seats of each branch in each college is taken as lateral entry.

    All the best

Thumbs up Re: Can I get admission for B.Tech course in IIT bombay after completing polytechnic diploma?

    Hi friend,

Its really sorry to say that you are not eligible for admission in any IIT on the basis of your Diploma course.I am also a Diploma holder like you,I had also dreamed of going to IITs or NITs after completing my Diploma course, but it is a great source of discrimination for Diploma holders that reputed Engineering Colleges like IITs and NITs does not allow Lateral entry to Diploma holders.

But you don't worry friend, there are good Colleges for Engineering which offers Lateral entry admissions to Diploma holders. For that, you need to appear for Lateral Engineering Entrance Test(LEET).

Eligibility conditions for Lateral entry admissions:

    • You must have completed your Diploma course with minimum 60% marks in Engineering from a recognized State Board of Technical Education.
    • You must not have any backlog left in Diploma course.
    • Your age must not be more than 28 years.

On the basis of your rank in LEET,you will be assigned College. The higher rank you will score the better College you will get.

Most reputed Engineering Colleges offering Lateral entry admissions are:

    Punjab University,Chandigarh.

    Punjabi University,Patiala.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology,Patiala.

    Guru Gobind Singh IP University,Delhi.

Sant Longoval Institute of Engineering and Technology,Sangrur.

    Harcourt Butler Technological Institute,Kanpur.

    Punjab Technical University,Jallandhar.

    KIITS University,Orrissa.

    Chitkara University,Chandigarh.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology,Delhi

Amity School of Engineering and Technology,Noida

    Delhi Technological University,Delhi.

    Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology,Delhi.

    Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College,Ludhiana

DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology,Jallandhar.

SBS College of Engineering and Technology,Ferozepur.

    Chandigarh Group of Colleges,Chandigarh.

Duration of degree course on the basis of Lateral entry scheme= 3years.

    Advantages of Lateral entry admissions:

    • High Relief from Maths,Physics,ED,Chemistry.
    • Direct 2nd year admission to degree.
    • More preferred by companies during recruitment due to more practical expertise.

    All the best.

Re: Can I get admission for B.Tech course in IIT bombay after completing polytechnic diploma?

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) have no any lateral entry scheme available so you are not eligible for IIT after your polytechnic diploma. But have still other reputed colleges in india which allow this scheme so you can apply for those colleges. Lateral Engineering Entrance Test (LEET) test give the opportunity for the students to get direct admission of second year course of engineering degree. Your entry in any college will depend on the rank which you will get in LEET test. Higher the rank , more will be the chance for you to get best college.

Sorry but you cannot get into IIT with your diploma degree. Only 12 pass out students are eligible to sit for IIT JEE exam and those who are able to crack that exam gets a chance to study in these colleges. But no need to feel bad about it as there are host of other colleges offering lateral entry.

Some of them are as follows:-

    KS Reddy College of Engineering
    Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College
    MV College of Engineering
    Anna University
    Jadavpur University
    Haldia Institute of Technology
Hindustan Institute of Engineering and Technology

Re: Can I get admission for B.Tech course in IIT bombay after completing polytechnic diploma?

    Hello friend,
You can't take admission in IIT Bombay as you are not eligible for it. No any IIT support this lateral entry program after diploma. For taking admission in IITs you must be appear in IIT-JEE for which the eligibility is -->
you must be 12th passed with 60% marks with science stream.

As you are not class 12th passed , so you can't appear for IIT-JEE and can't take admission in IITs.

For taking admission in engineering colleges after polytechnic you have to appear in LEET (Lateral Entry Engineering Test) .

    ELIGIBILITY FOR LEET-

1- You must have minimum 60% in polytechnic.
2- Your age does not exceed 28 years.
3- You should not suffer with any backlog in diploma.

    TOP COLLEGES UNDER LEET-

    Harcourt Butler Technological Institute,Kanpur.
    Punjab Technical University,Jallandhar.
    KIIT University,Orrissa.
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology,Patiala.
    Delhi College of Engineering,Delhi.
    IP-University,Delhi.
    NITs.
    Punjab University,Chandigarh.
    Anna University,Coimbatore.
Sant Longoval Institute of Engineering and Technology,Sangrur.

No my dear friend you can not take admission in any IIT after your polytechnic course. You can only take admission in IIT by giving the IIT JEE entrance exam after 12th non-medical. But you can take admission in other good engineering colleges through LEET. Thank You.
