Also if you are interested you can apply for articled training too. The fees will vary based on the option you select. Candidates who are graduates with more than specified marks or those who have passed the Final examination of the Institute of Cost and Works Accounts of India or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (I.C.S.I.) are exempted from PE Course – I.

The minimum duration of this course is ten months.

In India this course is mainly provided by the ICAI at three different levels:
1. CPT common proficiency Test : the 10+2 holders in any discipline are eligible to apply for this test. Then after qualifying it they have to appear for the IPCC and then final.
2.IPCC: Intermediate professional competency course: In this those who have cleared the CPT are eligible to apply.
The graduates are also eligible to apply in it based on their percentage if they havent applied in the CPT. According to the exemption criteria: The commerce graduates with 50% marks, non commerce with maths with 55% and non maths with 60% are eligible to exempt CPT and directly appear in the IPCC.
3. Final course.

Also there is 100 hours of TTI.

So based on your b.com degree you are only eligible for IPCC or CPT.
If you have got more than 50% in your b.com in 1999 then you can directly go for the IPCC and if not then apply for the CPT, qualify it and then go ahead.

I have attached a file which will help you in understanding the steps involved in becoming a CA.

For instance you need to follow these steps :

• Enrol for Group I or Group II or for both Group I and Group II of Integrated Professional

• Successfully complete 9 months of study course from the date of IPCC registration.
  
• Successfully complete Orientation Course of one week spanning 35 hours and covering

• Successfully complete 100 hours Information Technology Training (ITT) before commencement

he procedure to become a chartered accountant can be summarised as follows:
1)Firstly you have to appear for an entrance exam which is called CPT(Common Proficiency Test).
2)If you qualified the entrance exam , then you have to get registered for the intermediate level that is IPCC(Integrated Professional Competence Course). I f you qualified this exam then you would be eligible for the next level of exam
