There is no possibilities of joining in as IPS officer by writing the IPS exam after +2.

You have to apply for CSAT exam conducted by UPSC ,to become a IPS.

Eligibility for CSAT:

Age limits:
You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)

Number of attempts:
- General candidates: four attempts.
- Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
- Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

Fee:
Rs. 100/-
(No fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled)

IPS will be done in 3phases:
1.Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT)
2.Main Exams
3.Interview

You can't choose the following combination of subjects:

(a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
(b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
(c) Anthropology and Sociology;
(d) Mathematics and Statistics;
(e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
(f) Management and Public Administration;
(g) Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering–not more than one subject.
(h) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.

Exam pattern of IPS:

IPS Stands for INDIAN POLICE SERVICES
This exam is conducted by the UPSC for the candidate they have passed the graduation in any stream. [COLOR="rgb(139, 0, 0)"]So you are not eligible for this Exam[/COLOR].

UPSC conducted this Exam each year for the different services in Police. The Eligibility criteria for the IPS Exam is as follow :-
1. You should be Indian.
2. You have passed the Graduation in any stream from a recognized University.
3. Your age should be in between 21-30 year of age.

Actually the minimum qualification that is required in order to appear for IPS(Indian police services) or civil services exam
is that you must have a graduation degree or a degree or diploma equivalent to graduation from a recognized university
or institution.So, it would not be possible to appear for civil services examination just after completing your higher secondary.
So, you should firstly complete your graduation in order to appear for the respective exam.
There are basically three stages in which this examination can be appeared, that are as follows:
1)Preliminary exams
2)Mains examination
3)Personal interview.
