    hi,i passed my B.tech(Mechanical engineering) in 2010.can I apply for GATE ?

    Definitely you can apply for GATE exam for this year,though you have completed your course 2 year before.

    Important date for GATE-2012 exam:
    Opening date for application form is 12th Sep 2011.
    Closing date for application form is 17th Oct 2011.
    Exam will held on 29th Jan 2012.

    GATE ( Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering ) is the common entrance exam conducted All India wide for the young aspirants to pursue P.G ( M.Tech ) Program in India's Top Universities.

    GATE exam is conducted by IISc ( Indian Institute Of Science ) and 7 IIT's together and every year the organizing committee is IIT Delhi.

    GATE qualification is the minimum requirement for various scholarships awarded by different government Institutions.


    YES dude you are eligible for GATE examination if you have completed your B.Tech in 2010 , as there is minimum of 3 chances for a candidate to appear GATE exam.

    Eligibility :

    Educational qualification :

    1. You must be a Bachelor Degree holder in Engineering / Technology / Architecture or if are in final year of such program's.

    2. You must be a Master Degree holder in Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Application or equivalent or if you are in final year of such program's also you can apply for GATE.

    3. If you are in Second year of the 4 year Integrated Master Degree program also you can apply for GATE.

    4. If you are in fourth year of the five year integrated Master degree program or Dual Degree in Engineering / Technology can apply for GATE.

    5. If you qualified in any of the examinations conducted by Professional societies like UPSC , AICTE also you can apply for GATE.

    My dear friend,you can apply for the GATe examination,you should not exceed 3 years from the date of your graduation..
    Eligibility criteria

    *Students who are Bachelor degree holders(engineering/architecture after 12th) are eligible for applying to the test...
    *students studying final year,or doing 3rd year are also eligible...
    *Master degree holders of any group and who are in final year are also eligible...
    *Students who are pursuing 2nd year or studying final year of master degree programs are also eligible...
    *Candidates who are qualified in the professional examinations like UPSC/IBPS are also eligible...

    Yes you are eligible for GATE exam.

    -You have to pass your bachelor's degree holder's in -Engineering/Technology/Architecture/ and those who are in the final year of such programmers.
    -Bachelor's degree holders in engineering/Technology/Architecture (Post B.Sc/Post diploma)and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    -Candidates in the second or higher year of the four-year integrated master's degree programmer (Post-B.Sc)in engineering/Technology.

    Gate score is valid for 2 years.

    Hello Friend,

    The purpose of the M.Tech course is to give a specialized training in the field of engineering.

    To Apply For M.Tech you should complete Graduation from Technical Field.

    Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech Course:

    You should have complete B.Tech, MCA or MSc in the any of the areas of engineering.

    Most of the institutes asks at least 60% marks in the qualifying exam to accept the application.

    Age Requirements:

    There is No Age restrictions for the Gate exam.

    So you can apply for this course at a later stage too.


    *You need to write the GATE entrance exam after completing your Graduation in technical field.

    One More thing is you should not have any criminal cases against.

    You can also pursue M.Tech in private colleges also ,but there is no good scope for this in future.

    If you get good percentile in Gate entrance you can do M.tech In IIT's.

    If you did M.Tech In IIT's You have a Great scope in future.Your salary will be high...

    As you have completed B.Tech in Mechanical Field you can apply for Gate entrance exam.

    At the time of applying for the course you need to submit the required proof supporting the eligibility criteria.

    Hi friend,

    you can apply the gate exam for sure.

    this year, gate exam has changed many rules.

    the prefinal year students cannot apply for gate, but the final years and pass outs are eligible !

    sir,you said that you have passed your b.tech .
    as per gate new rules you can apply in your 4th year ,that you said that you are out for your b.tech so you eligible for gate entrance exam.
    now you should be daily up date with the newspaper so that you can see the notification.

    Yes you can apply for the GATE examination as you have completed your mechanical


    engineering ...in 2010 ... your year of passing the graduate will not make any difference ...

    GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING

    Yes you are eligible to take GATE as you have passed B.Tech in 2010.As the last date for applying GATE 2012 is over,you can apply 2013 next year.

    Eligibility to take gate exams

    • You should have Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final year of such programmes.
    • You should have Master's degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programmes.
