Re: Can I appear in IES exam after completing B.E in Production Engineering? What is the duration for IES officer selection procedure?

I.E.S stands for Indian Engineering Service Examination

The examination was conducted by the UPSC every year.

    Eligibility Criteria :-

--The candidate should have a completed graduation in engineering from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

But,the Engineering degree must be from:-

    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics and communication Engineering
    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering

The candidate age should be between 21 years and 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination.

Relaxation is given to the various reserved categories.

Candidate must have a age limit of 21-35 years for SC/ST candidates.

Candidates who are from OBC category must have a age limit of 21-33 years.

Candidate who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also apply for this examination.

As you are from Production Engineering, you need to take any 1 stream from above streams to apply in the exam.
For you, i would suggest you to take mechanical engineering, because it is similar to your production engineering paper.
