After M.Com, you can apply for IAS post. Graduation is the specified minimum qualification for this post. You can take up graduation or post graduation in any subject. 21 years is the minimum age for this post. On the other hand, higher age limit is 30 years. Age relaxation is given for reserved categories. Written examination will be the process of selection. Hence, candidates should appear for UPSC Civil services exam. On clearing both preliminary and main exam candidates should attend personal interview.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year through Civil Service Exam.

Those candidate have completed graduation degree from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.There is not require any kind of percentage marks.

But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

To become IAS, you have to appear for Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC . This exam is highly competitive, around 4 lakh students appear for it every year. Although vacancies are very few, only 900 are selected. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services and to become IAS Officer you need to crack the UPSC Civil services examination. If you have completed your M.com then you can also apply for this examination because graduation is the minimum requirement for this examination.

To be eligible for this exam, you must in the age group 21-30 yrs (relaxation for reserved category). Number of attempts are also limited, 4 for general, 6 for OBC, while SC/ST no limit.

This exam is conducted in three stages, Preliminary, Mains & then Interview , all are mandatory to clear. This procedure is year long. Notification are announced in Febrauary in all national dailies. Preliminary exam is conducted in May, after getting through this stage, then you can write Mains, which is conducted in Oct. After this comes Interview. This exam is objective as well as subjective.

Notification for next year will come in February 2013 in all national dailies & employment news.

Eligible candidates may fill the application form online only because no offline application form facility is available for any candidates.

You need to cracked the preliminary examination first and if you cracked this examination then you are eligible to appear for main examination. Those who cracked the main examination are eligible for Interview for final selection.

But the examination is not very easy and very few candidates will become IAS officer. You need to work very hard to cracked this examination. In this examination you will get limited attempts and if you failed to cracked the examination within the given attempts then you can not apply for this examination again. So be careful while appearing for the examination.

So, wait for the next year examination notification and then apply for the same. Please check the exam pattern and prepared well.
