Re: Can a B.Tech IT student apply for Bank exams or not?

Yes you are eligible for bank exam. You can give bank PO exam. For PO exam, the minimum eligibility criteria is that you have to secure atleast 60% marks in your 12th to become eligible. Also you should get atleast 55% marks in the graduation level. Also you should be 21 to 30 years of age while applying. So if you had this much marks in 12th as well as in graduation then you can apply for these examination.

Also there is on exam, common bank test you must certainly take this exam as you will have the opportunity to apply to 19 banks through this test. Normally in the notification for the public sector banks there is no specific mention on the minimum percentage required for the probationary officer post. But it will be good if you have at least a first class. For the private banks normally an aggregate score of 55% is a must. So before applying you can check the notification from the banks.

Yes certainly you can apply for the bank exams. You must certainly apply for the common bank test. 19 banks are conducting this exam. Your score will be valid for 1 year. You can also apply for other banks under the State Bank group, ICICI etc. SBI had recently called for candidates from B.Tech and MCA background for the specialist post. You need to satisfy other criteria like age criteria. Your age should not be more than 30 years for the PSU banks. For the common bank test the candidates age should not be less than 20 years. For SBI the minimum required is 21 years. For ICICI bank the maximum age limit is 25 years.

Yes, for sure. If you have above 60% marks then go fo Bank PO else clerical grade. Once written cleared. You will get preference in Interview, and will be selected easily due to BTech degree. But be prepared for questions like why are you not going in your respective field etc. etc.
