Re: Can a B.Tech 3rd year student eligible for IAS Entrance exam or not?

Any candidate who has completed his graduation can apply for this test. This is provided they are not less than 21 years of age and also not over 30 years of age. Even candidates who are awaiting their final year results are allowed to apply for the prelims. They need to have the results by the time of the mains exam. So since you are in the third year you will not be eligible to appear for the exam in 2012. You will be eligible only in the year 2013. The prelims i.e. CSAT is normally scheduled in the month of June. The application for the same shall be available in the month of January/February. This being a highly competitive exam you must start preparing for the same rightaway.

No, B.Tech 3rd year are not eligible to give IAS exam. To give IAS exam one must have a graduation degree. Students who are in final year of their graduation are also eligible. You can give the exam next year. Also to give exam you must satisfy the age criteria, if you are between 21-30 years and you are in final year of graduation or completed graduation then you can gve the IAS examination. Try it next year and IAS is very tough exam, you must have good knowledge of language and GK. Start preparing for ISA this year. You can join any coaching institute to prepare for IAS. All the best.

Re: Can a B.Tech 3rd year student eligible for IAS Entrance exam or not?

Sorry but you are not eligible to appear in the exam. For appearing in exam you need to complete your graduation with at least 55% marks. Age required is between 21-31. But you can apply when you reach your final year because your result should have released before you appear in mains. So my suggestion to you is that if you have one extra year so prepare for the exam well so that you can clear the exam in the very first attempt. The no. Of attempts to write civil service exam is 4 for general candidates and no limit for reserved classes.

    good luck!

sorry friend you cannot take up civil services exam in your pre-final year.
eligibility for civil services exam include:

Academic: minimum a bachelors degree from any recognized university in any discipline( students in final year of their course are also eligible)
Age:minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years(upper age limit relaxation is available for OBC-3years, SC/ST-5years)

so to apply for civil services exam you must be a graduate or should be in your final year of graduation course atleast. so wait for another year and apply for exam when you are in your final year.
    all the best.

There is also relaxation given in no of times you can take the exam.

General students can take the exam only 4 times .
OBC students can take the exam 7 times
SC/ST can take this exam unlimited times till they are under 35 years .

The examination is done in three phases ::

Re: Can a B.Tech 3rd year student eligible for IAS Entrance exam or not?

No you are not qualified for appearing in IAS examination.
For applying IAS examination you have to first complete your graduation from a recognized university.
So first thing which is most important for you is that you should be concentrate on your B.Tech study and than apply for IAS examination.
If you are in final year of B.tech than you can apply for examination of ias.
UPSC conducts every year the civil services examination.
So its better to first complete your present study and than apply for other exam.
    Thanks
