NDA exam is conducted by UPSC. This exam is conducted with an objective to recruit eligible candidates in to different defense wings namely – Indian, Navy, Indian Air force and Indian Army. Only Indian Nationals can attend this exam. The minimum eligibility requirement for attending this exam is a pass in12th class or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institute. You should be between the age group of 16.5-19 years to attend this exam. Only unmarried male candidates can attend this exam. In order to apply for Indian Navy /Air force you should opt with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects in 12th class. To apply for Indian Army, you need to complete 12th class in any stream. Those who qualify in written test will have to attend for physical test and personal interview.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy and this examination is Conducted by UPSC, Twice in a year for the post of these 3 wings :

~~ Army Wings
~~ Naval Wings
~~ Air Force Wings

If you have completed your 12Th examination with arts or commerce stream then you are only eligible for Army wings of NDA.

If you have study Maths and Physics as a compulsory Subjects in your 12Th examination, then you are eligible for all 3 wings of NDA.

The Notification of NDA Examination will be Published twice in the employment Newspaper or in the UPSC Website. Eligible candidates may fill the NDA Application form Online Only.

If your age should between 16.5 to 19 years then you are eligible for NDA Examination. Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible for NDA. To apply for this examination you must have fulfill the given Requirements :

:: You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
:: The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air-Force).
:: Your chest should be well developed, Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms.

You are advised to keep Yourself in good physical condition, by following the undermentioned routine :

~~ Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes
~~ Skipping
~~ Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 each)
~~ Chin ups (minimum 08)
~~ Rope climbing - 3-4 metres.

This exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and this exam is conducted twice in a year as NDA I and NDA II

This exam is conducted for candidates to join in defence forces of India such as:

• Indian Army
• Indian Navy

Procedure to apply for NDA:

For applying for the NDA exam you need to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the exam and they are:

Regarding the NDA Exam the qualification which you need in order to apply for the NDA Exam are as follows:

-> The candidate appearing for the exam must be a citizen of India

NDA-I and NDA-II exam are conducted twice in year, because the person who was not able to attend for NDA-I exam, he can apply for NDA-II exam in the same year, without having gap between the education.

NDA-I exam notification:

Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012.

Exam will held on 15th April 2012.

NDA-II exam notification:

Issue of application form from 5th May 2012 to 4th June 2012.

Exam will held on 19th Aug 2012.

After 12th with any of the stream you are eligible for NDA but keep in mind that your marks should be more than 50% marks.
