The Calicut University PhD entrance exam is carried out for the selection of suitable candidates for PhD course offered by University of Calicut. The university offers the course in areas of Humanities, Commerce, Management Studies, Science, Literature, Education and Fine Arts.

Structure and Pattern of Calicut University Ph.D Entrance Exam

The Calicut University PhD entrance exam is carried out in two separate sections. The first section is objective where as the second section is subjective. There will be a total of sixty-five questions. The first section covers fifty questions, which carries one mark each. There will be fifteen questions in the second paper, in which the candidate has the option to answer any ten questions. Each question in this section carries 5 marks. The test covers questions on science, Hindi, History, English, etc.

Eligibility required for Calicut University Ph.D Entrance Exam

Pass in master’s degree from University of Calicut is the basic qualification required to attend the PhD entrance exam. The qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 55% marks (in case of general category candidates). Those belonging to SC/ST category require mere pass in the post graduation to attend the exam. Teachers working in institutions affiliated to University of Calicut need to have 50% marks in the qualifying degree. M.Phil degree holders from the University can directly apply the course without attending the entrance exam. The same relaxation is offered for candidates who have NET/JRF/SRF score.

Application Procedure of Calicut University Ph.D Entrance Exam

The application form for the exam can be obtained for the official web portal of the University of Calicut. Before submitting the same, the candidate have to pay Rs. 500/- as application fee. This can be paid directly or in the form of demand draft at specified branches of State Bank of India. Filled application along with the fee payment challan or demand draft should reach the University before final date.
