    Re: Is calculator allowed in IBPS Exam or not?

    Like most other entrance exam calculators cannot be used in this exam. You need to choose the questions which you can answer in less time. This is possible only if you are well prepared for the exam. You should have solved many past papers for the same. Also for each type of problem you need to solve problems till you are comfortable. Joining coaching centers will be helpful. They will be able to guide you on how to select problems during the exam and also they will give you tips on how to calculate fast.

    Re: Is calculator allowed in IBPS Exam or not?

    IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is conducting common written exam for the recruitment of clerks and probationary officers separately for 19 public sector banks. SBI and SBI Associate Banks will not come under this category.

    Calculator is not at all allowed for IBPS Exam. Not only for IBPS Exam but also for any competitive exam, the calculators will not be allowed.

    Whatever the calculations that the candidate is intended to do, the candidate have to do them in the last page which will be provided at the end of booklet of the written exam.

    In addition the candidate can also do his calculations at any page of booklet of the written exam.

    If you are strong enough in Aptitude and if you are having enough practice of various models of aptitude questions, obviously it is not needed for the candidates to use calculator.

    Mind calculations should be very much essential for the candidates to save time in the written exam and to solve the problems in quick time.

    This will ultimately lead to scoring of high marks in the written exam.

    Have good preparation to the IBPS Exam and crack the exam. Wish you all the best.

    Re: Is calculator allowed in IBPS Exam or not?

    Hi
    Institute of Banking Personnel Selection(IBPS), which recruits clerks and PO(Probationary officers).

    No use of calculator is allowed, not only but all use of electronics like mobiles, pagers etc is against the rules

    Please not that the following documents are compulsorily required when appearing for the exam.

    ->original fee receipt

    As this is very important while going to the exams else you will not be allowed to appear for the exams, I had an experience wherein i had to appear for PO exams of SBI, but i was not allowed to sit for the exam because i forgot the original fee reciept.

    ->Photo ID proof

    -> Call letter

    Best Luck

    Re: Is calculator allowed in IBPS Exam or not?

    A calculator is strictly not at all allowed in IBPS examination.
    You can have a look yourself at the IBPS POadvertisement on their
    website to be sure.

    They have clearly mentioned that use of calculators, pagers, mobiles
    or any kind of electronic devices or instruments for calculations is
    prohibited in the examination hall.

    The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) organises
    Common Written Examination (CWE) for recruiting management trainees
    /Probationary officers for Banking institutions.

    The examination consist of sections which are General awareness,
    Quantitative aptitude, Logical reasoning and english etc. This examination
    is conducted to test the general intelligence of a candidate. Mainly you
    will be required to do some calculations in the quantitative aptitude section
    only as it will have mathematics questions.

    These calculations are basic and doesn't require a calculator at all.
    If they woul have allowed you to use calculator , then what will they test?
    So forget about calculator. This is not a engineering examination where
    scientific calculators are allowed for complex calculations. This is a exam which
    test your basic mathematical skills and mathematics upto 10 th standard will
    be asked only.

    So instead try to practice more and more mathematics. This will help you to
    increase your speed level and accuracy. Practise will only make you perfect.
    Best of luck.
