    The best option to become an Astronaut is Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Space Technology. Kalpana Chawla the Indian-American

    Astronaut with NASA was a Mechanical (Aeronautical) Engineer.

    you should have aerospace or mechanical engineering, aeronautic degree in the B.tech to become the astronaut with NASA.

    But go in the NASA you should have you complete the M.tech in previous branch for good knowledge of this subjects.

    In front of you,you have so many options you just have to see your interest and than choose any field.Career planning is one of the most crucial part in our life.I will suggest you The best option to become an Astronaut is Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Space Technology.you can go in the NASA you should have you complete the M.tech in previous branch for good knowledge of this subjects.i think this is very good option and it is evergreen field and it is very good opportunity to do this.So it is important that you select field of your interest. by your efforts and hard work you can easily achieve your aim.Think wise and decide.

    To become an astronauts you have to get these basic requirements-

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics.

    At least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. Flight test experience is highly desirable.

    Ability to pass a NASA space physical which is similar to a military or civilian flight physical and includes the following specific standards -

    Distant visual acuity- 20/100 or better uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 each eye.

    Blood pressure- 140/90 measured in a sitting position.

    Height between 62 and 75 inches.
