The minimum eligibility criteria for all Post-Graduate Clinical Research Courses would include either of the following:

    MBBS/BHMS/BAMS/BPT/MPT/BDS/BMLT/Bachelor in Naturopathy & Veterinary Science /MD/MS.

Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Pharmacy/ Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology).

    Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Chemistry/Biostatistics/ Bioinformatics.

Graduate or equivalent degree in Nursing/Allied Health.

Students in their final year of graduation for the above courses may also apply.

    Hi aspirant,

    Clinical Research:

A Bachelor of Science graduation degree is a must to enter this field.
Ideally this industry is looking for science graduates from field of pharmacy, medicine, life science and bioscience.
Bioscience is itself a broader field which is further subdivided into smaller field such as botany, zoology, biochemistry and genetics.
Anybody who fulfils these criteria can join the industry.

Candidates applying for this science must hold some experience of 2-3 years, but like the BPO industry, there is a dearth of trained professionals here too. Thus, with the right qualifications finding a job in clinical research should not be a problem.

    Job Profile.

As i mentioned earlier it is a broader branch so there are number employment scopes sectionised into various categories at the entry level.

The most common and the demaded post at entry-level position is Clinical Research Associate (CRA).
The role of a CRA is varied as they are play the main role in the design, implementation and monitoring of clinical trials
They take the charge of planning or maintaining and implementing all activities required to conduct and monitor complex clinical trials and ensure that Good Clinical Practices are followed.
They also suggest co-workers in preparing the presentations and manuscripts of scientific meetings and technical journals and attend scientific/professional meetings and training courses as appropriate.
CRM are Clinical Research Managers or the supervisor incharge of designing and writing of protocols, case report forms and informed consent forms for clinical trials. They ensure that Case Report Forms are reviewed in a timely fashion and submitted to the data management group. There are other posts too such as Clinical Research Coordinator, Business Development Manager, Clinical Research Investigator, Clinical Data Manager etc.
