Structure and Pattern of Bharathiar University Coimbatore State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship

The selection process involved in Bharathiar University Coimbatore State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship is as follows –

• Written Test
• Personal Interview

SET exam contains 3 sections.

• Section – A consists of 60 questions out of which candidates need to answer only 50 questions which carry 2 marks each.
• Section – B also includes 50 questions. The total time fixed for both the sections is1 1/2 hours.
• Section –C consist of 200 questions (from specialization subject areas) which needs to be completed within 2 ½ hours.

The written examination in the first 2 sections includes objective type questions where as the third section consist of descriptive type questions.

• Section –A (100 marks) (50 Questions)
• Section – B (100 marks) (50 Questions)
• Section - C (200 Marks) (50 Questions)

Eligibility criteria of Bharathiar University Coimbatore State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship

Post graduates from recognized institutes can appear for this exam. Candidates need to score 55% marks in Post graduation level so as to attend this exam. On the other hand, SC/ST/OBC candidates need to obtain 50% marks in Post graduation level to appear for this test. Candidates can apply for lectureship positions as per their subject area of specialization in PG level. Those who are attending final year Post graduation exam can also apply for this position. But, such candidates will be given admission for this exam on a provisional basis and will be awarded lectureship positions only on successful completion of Post graduation with required percentage of marks. Those candidates who have qualified UGC NET exam can also attend this exam.
