    Dear friend,
Yes, AMIE is equivalent to B.Tech.
Even in private companies AMIE is preferred better than B. Tech, There is only 1 field where we can't apply and it is Teaching. You can't apply in a College or university on the basis of AMIE. Because as per AICTE rules the eligibility for lecturer in an Engineering college is a regular Degree, but AMIE is not a regular Degree. Even according to new format of AICTE, the minimum qualification for lecturer is M. Tech now.

Re: Which is best option between AMIE and B.Tech?

Well i recommend you to join AMIE.AMIE is done twice a year .The application forms for enrolment as technician or senior technician members of the institution are received throughout the year.

    Eligibility ::

    For Technician Membership

You must have passed 10+2 from science examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

    For Senior Technician Membership

You should be minimum 18 years at the time of applying.
The candidates should have passed a diploma examination in engineering or technology.

    Pattern of AMIE Examinations::

It is divided into two sections :

Section A::This section is common for all those candidates who want to become engineers by having a degree of AMIE.

After Section A, the student has to complete a project work over a period of one year.
On the basis of satisfactory professional competence report, candidates are admitted to appear for the Section B examination.

Section B::It consists of 10 papers of which 7 are compulsory and 3 optional. In Section B a candidate chooses a particular discipline of engineering program.

    EXAM FEE

Exam fee is Rs. 2000/-. DD should be in favour of "THE INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS (INDIA) Payable at KOLKATA.

Overseas exam fee is $ 150.

Re: Which is best option between AMIE and B.Tech?

AMIE and B.Tech are considered of same level.
but in industries AMIE is given more prefrence then B.Tech.
but after doing AMIE you cannot apply for teaching field that is you cannot apply in universities and colleges.
but after B.Tech your teaching field is also open for you.
if you only interested in industry then go for AMIE.
if you want to keep you teachinf fiel open then go for B.Tech.

Re: Which is best option between AMIE and B.Tech?

    AMIE or B.Tech

AMIE (Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers) is considered to be an equivalent to B.Tech or Bachelor of Technology but if you go for AMIE then you might face slight trouble while appearing for the job interviews

The AMIE is not a degree course like B.Tech, instead it is just a certification course in which there are two sections and the minimum time to pass both the sections is 4 years

So, i would personally suggest you to go for B.Tech rather than AMIE because after B.Tech you have much better chances of getting a good job with a decent package in the campus placement itself whereas AMIE is concerned, that might not be the case

Rest is all up to you to decide

Re: Which is best option between AMIE and B.Tech?

AMIE and B.Tech are equivalent . it's upon to you what you chose . after completing both you can apply for public or private sector jobs. and also you can go for higher study like mba or m.tech.
Some private company prefer AMIE than B.Tech. Only disadvantage that you cannot apply for teaching job in institutions as per rule it need b.tech but recent rule is need master degree for this profession.

for both you have to clear entrance exam like for B.Tech jee, aieee, iit exam etc

    so chose what you like.

Re: Which is best option between AMIE and B.Tech?

    Dear aspirant,

Between AMIE and Btech I would prefer BTech.
Most of the industries prefer BTech graduates over AMIE.
Also AMIE graduates are not allowed for teaching.
Even in IT industries AMIE is not preffered.
Although AMIE is considered equivalent for BTech, in AMIE most of the time you will not get good teachers and so your learning is hampered. Hence go for BTech course.

    All the Best.
