Since you have already the work experience of 1 year in the construction industry it is an advantage. Hence it will be better or you to join for the engineering course after diploma. This will help you to apply for better jobs in the related area. You can go in for the lateral entry option after diploma. You need to attend the entrance test as part of it. If you qualify in the written test you can secure admission for the B.Tech course. Hence if you are interested, you can join for the engineering course. After engineering you have different options for jobs such joining areas of construction, consultation etc.
