    Am I(ST Candidate) eligible to take up IPS exam after scoring 36% in HSLC(Metric), 42% in Pre University,45% in B.A Hons and 61% in MA?

    MY MATRIC(HSLC) PERCENTAGE IS 36%,MY PRE-UNIVERSITY IS 42%,BA(HONS) IS 45% and M.A IS 61%(NET) .SO AM I ELIGIBLE FOR IPS EXAM?BESIDES THAT I'M A SCHEDULED TRIBE CANDIDATE

    Dear friend,
    As you said that you are belongs to SC/ST category .Then don't worry my friend you are eligible for IPS.
    Eligibility criteria for IPS :-
    1.A candidate should be graduate in any discipline.
    2.A candidate should have atleast 50% for open category and reservation will be given for SC/St,OBC.
    3.A candidate should be citizen of India.
    4.Age limit 21-30 years for open category.
    5.Age limit for OBC 21-33 years.
    6.Age limit for SC/ST 21-35 years.

    Yes, You are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination to become IPS Officer.

    There is No need to scored Minimum Percentage Eligiblity Criteria to apply for this examination, Any Graduate passed candidates May apply for This examination. This examination was conducted by UPSC Comission every year and For 2011 Examination was already completed, So, If you have completed Your graduation degree course in any discipline then you are eligible to apply for Civil services examination.

    Eligiblity Criteria For UPSC Civil Services Examination -

    >> You need to be a graduate in any discipline form a recognised university.
    >> Final year Graduate candidates are also eligible for this examination.
    >> There is no minimum percentage eligibility Criteria to apply for this examination.
    >> Your age should between 21 to 30 years.

    Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates. General Candidates May get 4 Attempts to cracked this examination, OBC Candidates will gets 7 Attempts and No attempts is applicable for SC/ST Candidates.

    >> The Eligible candidates may fill the application form Online, But if any one Interested to apply Offline Then you have to obtained the application form Directly form the designated post offices.

    >> The Notification of Next year examination was Published in the employment Newspaper or in the UPSC website in the month of February 2012 i.e. on 04/Feb/2012.

    So, please check the UPSC website to get the complete schedule of UPSC Civil services examination, So Just wait for the Notification and then apply for this examination.

    The examination was Held in 2 Stages - Preliminary examination and Main examination.

    >> The Preliminary examination are Objective and there are 2 papers in this examination and Both are of same marks and Duration, And If you completed the preliminary examination only then you can sit in Main examination, In main examination you have to choose the optional subjects as per the Post Graduation. So, please prepare well for the Preliminary examination and for complete Information check the official website -
