Firstly I have to inform you that the UPSC conducts various examinations, so if you are graduate candidates then you are eligible for UPSC Civil services examination, IES examination and CDS Examinations.

For UPSC civil services you must have to purse a graduate degree in any stream from a recognised university, there is no minimum Percentage eligibility criteria to apply for this examination, But make sure that your age should between 21 to 30 years (If you are general candidates) The upper age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST and OBC Candidates.

For IES You need a Engineering degree from a recognised University, and age are same as civil services examination. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for all these given examinations.

The notification was published in the official website of UPSC and also in Employment newspaper, Eligible candidates may apply online for UPSC examinations. The candidates will get only 4 chances to crack the examination, 7 changes will get OBC Candidates and No Limits for SC, ST candidates.

To apply for the any UPSC exam you should have degree first . Means to say that you have to complete your final year and after completing your final year you can apply for the exam. If you do not have degree at that time then you can attach provisional degree which you obtain from your college.

But at the time of the interview you have to show your degree. So first complete you final year and then apply for the respective exam in which you are interested. You can apply for the IES and CDS exam after completing your degree. These are the exams which are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
So you have to drop the idea of UPSC exam for this year and apply for the various UPSC exams in the next year such as IES and CDS.

Sorry but right now you can not attempt UPSC because you must follow the following criteria:

Age criteria :
*age is not more than 30 years and less than 21 years as on 01.07.2011. (The upper age is relaxed for SC / ST / OBC categories.)

Educational Criteria :

The applicant must have Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with at least one of the subjects like
*Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science,
*Botany,
*Chemistry,
*Geology,
*Mathematics,
*Physics,
*Statistics and Zoology

or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.

The degree must be from a recognized university.

UPSC is the main authority in India who carries out various exams in India. This is held in order to select qualified candidate to different job vacancies in most of the central government departments. As to be eligible for these exams a student should at least be a graduate. The subject of study can be according for most of the posts and is open for all the Indian citizens. The students must be above 18 years of age. It is stated by the UPSC that the students who are in their final year can also apply for the entrance exam. This is because the entire process of the entrance exam will be a time consuming process. Few of the entrance exams might take more than 6 months from start to finish. This will give enough time for the students to finish of their studies and be prepared for the job ahead. But the students who are in their 2nd or 3rd year of studies will not be eligible for the UPSC exam. This is because they will have another year of studies to complete and will not meet the eligibility at the time of appointment.

UPSC conducts various exams like IAS, IES , NDA , CDS so the criteria is differ from entrance to entrance.To appear in UPSC exams the candidate must fulfill the following eligibility criteria :-

- the candidate must be Indian citizen

- between the age of 21 - 30 years,upper age relaxation for ST/SC and OBC candidates

- graduate in any discipline from a recognized university,final year candidates can also appear in this exam

Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs .
