    The candidates completed their stream from Civil,Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering are eligible for applying in IES.

    IES STANDS FOR Indian Engineering Service:

    IES exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and the exam is held every year for recruiting candidates for the India's government Engineering Organizations.

    The candidates who are wanting for stable government job in engineering cadre then you can apply for this exam.

    The exam is conducted once in a year and the exam is conducted on the month of June and the notification will be released in the month of January.

    The candidates who are willing to apply for the exam must satisfy some eligibility criteria's:

    Eligibility:
    The candidate must be a citizen of India.
    The candidate must have a age limit of 21-30 years.
    The candidate must have got a Engineering degree from a recognized university and the candidates must have passed out from departments
    Civil,Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
    The candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for the exam.

    The pattern for the exam is:

    Written test
    Personality Test

    The written test consists of 5 papers:

    Paper I - 200 marks
    Paper II,III - 200 marks
    Paper IV,V - 200 marks.

    Personality Test - 200 marks.

    Hi,

    You are Eligible to appear for the Indian Engineering Services only if you have Completed your Graduation in Engineering From any one of the following Streams.

    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics and telecommunication Engineering

    The Exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Commission Board). The notifications about the exams are given in the Employment newspapers or updated in the UPSC website. The exam is divided into two papers. Objective paper and Conventional Paper.

    Eligibility:
    • You must be a citizen of India
    • You must have attained 21 years and must not be more than 30 years.
    • Upper Age relaxations applicable for reserved Categories.

    Exam pattern:

    As i have told you earlier the exam is divided into 2 papers:

    Objective paper: This consists of 3 papers which carries 200 marks each.

    conventional Paper: This Consists of 2 papers and Carries 200 marks. Subjects can be chosen in basis of your graduation.





    You have to clear the exams within a given limit. For General Category the Limit is 4 times, for OBC the Limit is 7 times and SC/ST Categories do not have any limit.

    Union Public services Commission UPSC Conducts the examination for different Public services Posts for applying to these Services offered by the UPSC.These Engineering Services Examinations are also conducted by the UPSC and these examinations will make you to get entry in to the different Public sector of the Indian through IES....
    only some of the branches of study are only eligible for the Engineering Services examinations,the branches which are eligible are....
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics and Communication engineering
    Mechanical Engineering
    Civil Engineering
    These are the four branches of study who can apply for the Engineering services Examinations....

    According to these branches of study as you are from the EIE Electronics Instrumentation Engineering you are not eligible for the Indian Engineering Services Examination.....
    only the respective branches of study in engineering are eligible for the Engineering services and no other branches of study are eligible.....

    Eligibility Criteria:
    >>Nationality-
    you must be the citizen of India....
    >>age limit-
    you must have attained the Age of 21 years and should not exceed the age of 30 years
    >>Educational Qualifications-
    you must have completed you under Graduation course Engineering in any one of the Four Branches like
    Civil
    Mechanical
    Electrical
    Electronics and Communication
    These are the eligibility Criteria required for appearing to the Engineering Services Examination.....

    you can not apply for engineering services as you are not from any four of the mentioned branches of study.....

    UPSC-Union Public Service Commission.

    Eligibility Criteria For UPSC Exam:

    >>In most of the exams of UPSC the minimum qualification required is graduation.

    >>As you are a graduate student you are eligible for UPSC exams.

    You can apply for the following exams:

    >>Combined Defence Services Examination

    >>Civil Services Examination

    >>Indian Forest Service Examination

    >>Central Police Forces Examination
    (Assistant Commandants)




    Age Limit:

    >>Your age must complete 21 years .

    >> Maximum 30 for General category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

    Number of Attempts:

    >>4 attempts for Open Category,

    >>7 for OBCs

    >>No limit for SCs/STs.

    If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

    Yes , You are applicable for IES exam.Those candidate have completed B-TECH degree are applicable for IES Exam.

    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam


    1.Civil Engineering

    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.


    Any engineering branch are applicable for IES exam but you should go for above mention subject.


    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.


    Final year student also eligible for IES exam .


    Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

    Yes, any candidate with a graduation from recognised institute with an aggregate of 50% can certainly apply for civil service examination conducted by UPSC exams.

    No, you are not eligible for the IES exams

    You must be from the following:

    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering
    Electronics and telecommunication Engineering
    Electrical Engineering

    If you have any engineering from above 4 branches or
    M.Sc(Electonics/Wireless Communication/Radio Physics/Radio Engineering)
    You must have a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university.

    Age limits:
    Your age should be between 21 to 30years.
    For SC/ST - 21 to 35years
    For OBC -21 to 33years
    For PD - 21 to 40years

    Scheme of IES Exam:
    Paper 1 (Objective) -> General Ability Test
    Paper 2&3 (Objective) -> Will be on your subject
    Paper 4&5 (Conventional) -> will focus in your branch

    Yes you are eligible to apply for the UPSC Engineering services exams which is conducted every year by UPSC.

    Through this you will become a senior engineer in government Engineering Trade.

    To be eligible to appear for the IES you should be pursuing the engineering degree from the following branches.
    1. Civil Engineering
    2. Mechanical Engineering
    3. Electrical Engineering
    4. Electronics & Communications Engineering

    You must be a graduate from the above branches of engineering or in the final year of graduation of the course.

    HERE IS THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO GIVE THE IES-INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE EXAMINATION CONDUCTED BY THE UPSC EVERY YEAR:-

    1.YOUR NATIONALITY SHOULD BE INDIAN.

    2.YOU SHOULD HAVE ATTAINED AN AGE OF 21 YEARS BUT SHOULD NOT HAVE CROSSED THE AGE OF 30 YEARS.WITH SOME RELAXATIONS IN AGE FOR THE RESERVED CATEGORIES.

    iii. Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only.
