Am I eligible to take NET with Education as my subject? I have done PG in Chemistry, B.Ed from Annamalai University in correspondence mode in 1991. I also have 23 years of experience in Educational publishing.

Am I eligible to take the NET exam for Education as a subject, given that

    * my basic PG degree is in Chemistry?
    * I had done my B.Ed from Annamalai University through correspondence in 1991
    * I have 23 years experience in in Educational Publishingócurriculum development, content development and teacher training.

I am confident that with some preparation, I can qualify the NET as I am familiar with most of the topics covered.

There is no age limit to apply for the NET exam. But the candidates applying should be postgraduates. Also they must select the subject based on the postgraduation course they have completed. Even if you have experience in education area, you are still eligible to take only chemistry as a subject for the NET exam. You can collect the syllabus from the UGC site. You can be prepared to answer objective type questions from this subject. There will be questions with different levels of difficulty. So if you plan to take the exam prepare accordingly.
