    Hi there,
Yes you are eligible for pursuing Engineering even after your percentage in class 12th is 52% only. I would advise that you work hard while giving entrance exam and also during Btech. Because it will be your last chance for showing your capability. So start working hard as it is the peak time for your career.

    All the very best!

    hello my dear friend,

a lot people of people think if they have got a less percentage then they are not eligible for any of the engg entrance exam ......

    let me tell them they are wrong;;;;;;;;;;;;

till now (present date) you can give almost all entrance exam of engg.......................

but very sorry to inform you that you are not allowed to sit in the exam of IIt because minimum percentage required to sit in IIT exam is 60%............

beside IIT as far as i remember you are also not allowed to sit in exam of bits because minimum %age required to sit in bits exam is 80% in PCM...............

beside these two you are allowed to sit in every exam as far as i remember...........

you are also eligible in every state exam ......................

Re: Am I eligible to study engineering after scoring 52% in 12th(PCM)?

    Hello Friend !!

To get into Engineering, only the Engineering Entrance Exam Score is considered but not the 12th Class percentage.

    Engineering :

This is a Graduation Course which can be done after 10+2 followed by an entrance test.

There are various entrance tests for getting into Engineering.

The Entrance Test are conducted State Wide and National Wide, hence they are more in number.

The various engineering entrance exams are listed below :

    IIT-JEE
    AIEEE
    AMIE
    Amrita University AEEE
    AMU Engineering
    Assam JAT
    Avinashilingam University
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University CET
    BCECE
    BEEE
    BSAUEEE
    CEE Delhi
    CEPT PAT
    COMEDK UGET
    EAMCET
    GAT PGT
    GATE
    GCET
    GGSIPU CET
    GUJCET
    Haryana CEET
    Himachal Pradesh CPET
    ICFAI ATIT
    IETE
    IGNEAT
    IIAE
    IIIT Bhubaneswar
    IIST ISAT
    IIT JEE
    J&K BPEE CET
    JCECE
    JNU CBEE
    Kalasalingam University B Tech
    Karnataka CET
    Kerala KEAM
    KRLMPCA CET
    Lovely Professional University NEAT
    Manipal UGET
    MHT CET
    MP PET
    NERIST
    Orissa JEE Exam
    Pondicherry CENTAC JET
    PSBTE JET
    RPET
    SRMEEE
    TNPCEE
    Tripura JEE
    UP SEE
    Uttarakhand Technical University
    Vignan University VSAT
    VITMEE
    VMU
    WBJEE
    BITSAT
    GAT UGTP

--> Depending on your interest and with respect to your State you can appear for the Entrance Test.

--> Once you attain a Good Score in the examination, then you are allowed for Admitting into Engineering College in any stream.

--> So, here no where your 10+2 Percentage is asked, this means you are allowed for Engineering(if you are qualified in the entrance exam).

--> But for Some of the Entrance Exams require 50% min percentage in 10+2, you have more than that .

--> So you are allowed for Engineering in any angle.

--> Directly speaking, 52% in 12th doesn't affect in entering into Engineering.

    All the Best !!

Re: Am I eligible to study engineering after scoring 52% in 12th(PCM)?

    Hi Buddy,

The answer to your question is "YES". You are eligible for studying engineering, but you'll have very less chances of attending all the entrance examinations conducted by various universities for admission into B.E/B.Tech.

--> For getting admission into Engineering you're required to make sure that you take up some of the entrance exams such as IIT-JEE, AIEEE, VITEEE, etc.....
--> But in order to take up such examinations you must have a minimum marks of above 70% in 12th std, which makes it highly impossible for you.
--> With a scoring marks of 52% in Intermediate you can still apply for exams such as EAMCET.
--> In EAMCET there will be 160 bits with each bit carrying 1 mark and the minimum cutoff being 40 marks.
--> Only if you qualify then you'll be able to get through councilling and get admission into Engineering.
--> Recently there has been a rule coming that no student having marks less than 50% will be allowed to get admission into Engineering but in your case you're lucky enough that you're having 52%.
--> Another option of getting admission into Engineering is directly by getting through payment seat.
--> For payment seat you just have to pass 12th std which is enough for getting admission.

From the above points it is clear that you have very good chance of getting admission and studying Engineering in the future.
    All the best.

---so my dear , you are eligible to give the examination of
    -----1.AIEEE

-----but the cut-off for the IIT-JEE IS 60%

NOTE: one more thing i would like to tell you that for the session 2013 commom entrance exam will be held in which

    1. 50% weightage from class 12th will be added
    2.50% from the entrance exam
3.top rankers will be admitted in various IITs and then NITs.

Yes dear why not. You are definitely eligible for engineering courses. I know why you are asking this question. You are thinking whether any college will take you or not. Let me tell you that there are lots of private engineering colleges that are very good in education and campus recruitment facilities like Netaji Subhash Engineering College, BP Poddar Institute of Management, JIS College,Vellore Institute of Technology, Karunya Institute of Technology and many many more. I know many people who got into private engineering colleges, had their degree, did MS in abroad and currently settled in companies of abroad like in USA or UK or Kuwait etc. Nowadays getting admitted through joint entrance examination is also not necessary. You can directly show your marks and take forms from private engineering colleges and get admitted there, if your name comes in the top list. Depending on the college you might have to clear any admission test. So think what to do.
