    Am I eligible for NET at the age of 32 after completing M.Ed from IGNOU?

    Sir,
    I am 32yrs of age and persuing my M.ed from IGNOU. Am I eligible to appear for NET ? Please advice.

    Yes, You are eligible for NET Examination, If you have completed your Post Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognised University, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for NET Examination.

    NET stands for National Eligibility Test and this examination is Conducted by UGC, Twice in a year to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

    There is No Upper age restriction to apply for Lectureship post of NET, But you have to attained the age of 19 years.

    For Junior Research Fellowship Post, your age should between 19 to 28 Years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

    The examination fees of NET is Rs 450 and you have to pay the fees through challan form in SBI Bank.

    The Challan form is Availiable in the official websites after declaring the Notification.

    If you have completed your Post graduate degree course with Minimum 55% Marks then you are eligible for NET.

    The Notification of June NET Examination is Expected to be declared on April 2012, Eligible candidates may fill the NET Application form Online Only.

    You are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The List of Subjects in availiable in the official website.

    So, As per your age, you are only eligible to apply for Lectureship Post only.

    There are 3 papers in NET Examination and all are conducted in same day in 2 session.

    The first 2 papers is Objective type and the last paper is Descriptive type, you have to choose the subjects on the basis of your Post graduation.

    The First two papers is of 100 marks Each and last paper is of 200 Marks. So please prepare well for the examination as per the syllabus.

    If your M.Ed distance course is approved by UGC then you are eligible for NET exam Otherwise not.

    NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conduct twice time in year.

    Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam.

    For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

    Part time course are not eligible for NET exam.

    For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years.

    For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years.There is no restriction for attempts NET exam.

    NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance.

    Important Dates For NET Examination:-

    They are held in June 2012 and December 2011/2012.

    The notification details and other important announcement are made in March and September 2012 respectively.

    Date of UGC NET entrance test by June last week, 2012.

    Notifications will be published by March last week, 2012

    Final date for online application April last Week, 2012

    I am happy to say that you are very much eligible for the test

    i am providing you some details

    Eligibility:
    The candidate must finish their Master's degree from a recognized university with 55% aggregate.For SC/ST/VH/PH candidates it is 50%.
    The candidates must appear with the subjects of their post graduation only.

    PART A(two and a half hour)

    There will be 40 objective type questions and Candidates are required to answer any 25 questions.
    If candidate answers more than 25 questions, only the first 25 answers will be evaluated.
    All questions shall be of 2 marks each. and there will be negative marks for each wrong answer..

    Syllabus:---

    General information on Science and its interface with society to test the candidate’s awareness of science, aptitude of scientific and quantitative reasoning.
    COMMON ELEMENTRY COMPUTER SCIENCE:
    PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
    SIMPLE ALGORITHMS AND COMMPUTATIONAL METHODS

    PART B(two and a half hour)

    Syllabus:--

    It will contain specilalized subject choosed by candidate and since your specialization is life science..

    here are a few details about the exam
    please read through



    [COLOR="rgb(154, 205, 50)"]NET exams are conducting twice a year, i.e., in the months of June and December by UGC. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are published in the months of March and September respectively in the weekly Employment News.
    so you can apply for june month NET......

    the eligibility criteria for NET is M.Sc or equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned above, with minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D.

    A candidate can also apply for the Test under RA (Result Awaited) category, if he/she is appearing or has appeared in his/her final year (III/IV Semester where Semester system is there) of M.Sc. or equivalent degree examination in subjects mentioned in above. Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature and rubber stamp (with address and name) from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared in the final year M.SC or equivalent degree examination. However, such candidates shall be admitted to the Test provisionally. They shall only be considered eligible for JRF-(NET)/LS-(NET), if they are able to produce the proof of having passed the Master’s Degree examination in the relevant or related subject with the requisite percentage of marks and within the stipulated time frame.


    Pattern for NET exam will be divided in two parts:--

    PART A(two and a half hour)
