    Am I eligible for Merchant Navy after completing Third year BAF Course? Is PCM Required to take Merchant Navy? Is there any chance to get admission in Merchant Navy with commerce,Maths,IT in 12th?If not,Can I appear for PCM directly from University?

    i am in third year accounting and finance(BAF) . I am interested in merchant navy. but it requires PCM. i had taken commerce in 12 std with maths and I.T. is there any chance that i can get into merchant navy. can i appear for PCM directly from university so that i am eligible for merchant navy.

    Dear friend,

    Very well you can join Merchant Navy after 12th standard with 50% marks.

    To join Merchant Navy You have do Pre-Sea (Panama) and Pre-Sea (Liberian) courses.

    The qualification required for above mentioned courses is class 12th with
    40 % aggregate.

    12th with Physics, chemistry, maths is compulsory.If you wish to complete ow you can,but you must be 20 years with PCM in 12th at date of joining.

    Can I take admission in merchant navy after getting 54% marks in class 10?

    Eligibility norm for the Merchant Navy:-

    1)Candidate should have Indian nationality.

    2)Their age must be between 18-42 yrs on 25.02.11

    3)should have Graduate from any recognize university.

    4)The employed person who is working in central govt. /own business/private sector/semi govt. must have Pay and allowances and privileges.


    For Merchant Navy the Selection Procedure:-

    1. Preliminary Interview Boards held at respective TA Group Headquarters .

    2. SSB Interview

    3. Medical & Police Verification.
