For M.Tech course you have to write GATE exam , for these exam best coaching center is ACE and T.I.M.E is best , and M.Tech is 2 years course .you can go with out writing GATE exam but in payment seat that to in private colleges but dont go for these , thake a short term course in GATE you can get good score in exam ..

Normally the score of GATE is accepted by most institutes. But this is not the only exam conducted in the country. There are many institutes like BITs, VIT etc which conduct their own exam. Other than that there are exams which are conducted at the state level. TANCET is one such exam. You must check the specialisation carefully before submitting the same. All these exams will have syllabus similar to the GATE exam. So you can prepare for all these exams together. Check the past paper to understand the requirements.

Some institutes/universities have taken admission without GATE exam you can apply them. But they have taken exam his own basis

GATE is the entrance for the graduation student to enter into top Engineering college in India for post graduation course i.e M.Tech.
It is not compulsory to clear GATE entrance exam to Pursue M.Tech course in normal colleges.
You can get admission for M.Tech course some colleges by paying extra amount that comes under management quota.
The amount depends upon according to college ranking.
The M.Tech course has duration of 2 year.One year of complete theoretical class and second year will have complete project to work on.
But i suggest you to appear for GATE entrance exam once a gain with complete dedication,because if you come out with an M.Tech degree from a top college,you will have good job opportunities and good career too.

So any how these year you cannot appear for GATE entrance, as the application as be closed 21st Oct 2011.
