Yes you can join NDA. First you have to clear entrance exam then you will be called for SSB on the basis of that they will select you for the training.

NDA examination was conducted by UPSC Every year 2 times and to apply for this examination, You must be passed in your 12Th examination from a recognised Board and your age should between 16.5 to 19 years, So you are fulfill the age eligibility criteria and If you have completed your 12Th examination, then yes you are eligible to apply for NDA Examination. But for this year the NDA I examination was already completed and NDA II examination was going to be held on 21/Aug/2011, So You have missed the chance in this year, but please dont worry, just wait for the NDA I examination notification and when the notification was announced then it was published in the employment newspaper or in the UPSC Official website. There are 3 wings in NDA examination First Army Wing, Naval Wing and Air force wing. To apply for army wing you need to complete your 12Th in any discipline, But for Other 2 wings i.e Air force and Naval wings you need to complete your 12Th examination in science stream with Maths ans Physics subject, Eligible candidates may apply for NDA examination Online And for more information please check the UPSC website -

NDA(an exam conducted to get entrance in National Defense Academy of India) is conducted to select candidates eligible for getting into into Indian Defense sector. There are three conditions required to be satisfied, they can be stated as follows-
1)The candidate should be unmarried male candidates.
2)The candidate should satisfy the minimum age requirement. The minimum requirement is that the candidate should be between 16.5 to 19.5 years of age.
3)The candidate must have completed his 10th standard from a recognized board.

Yes you can certainly givet the NDA exam in 2012 as you have the appropriate age.The age requirement for NDA is 16.5-19 years and you will be 18 in 2012.So you are eligible.You also need to be physically and mentally very fit to join NDA and clear the SSB interviews after clearing the written exam.You should not be colour blind and should have the correct height to weight ratio.Check the brochure for further details.

My dear friend if You are from 16 1/2- 19 yr. old you can apply for this exam it is also very necessary that the person should be unmarried as you are 171/2 yr. old you can apply for this exam but now you eill have to apply next year as this year NDA I exam is already over so try for the next one.
