    Am I eligible for IES entrance exam in Next year after scoring 62% in B.Tech?

    Hello sir/madam
    i have scored 62% in b.tech. can i eligible to apply in ies 2012?

    Dear friend ,
    You have not mention your branch.
    IES exam is conducted by UPSC only for the following streams of engineering namely:
    1. Civil engineering
    2. Mechanical engineering
    3. Electrical engineering
    4. Electronic and Telecommunications engineering

    So a student with if you have complted graduation in any above stream , you are eligible to seat for IES exam.

    Surely, you can apply for the examination. The exam is carried out UPSC. UPSC set out certain eligibility requirements for those who want to appear for the exam. You should have passed B.Tech in Civil engineering or Mechanical engineering. Incase you have passed engineering in Electrical engineering, or Electronic and Telecommunications engineering then also you are also eligible. Your age must fall within the range of 21-30 years to appear for the exam. Relaxation in age is provided for backward category candidates.

    Indian Engineering Service exam is conducted by upsc every year once.This exam is conducted to intake qualified engineers for Government sector in different departments.

    Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Service exam:
    Education qualification:
    You should minimum graduation degree in Engineering from a Mechanical/Civil/Electric Stream.
    Age limit:
    Age should be between 21 to 30 years.

    If you fulfill with above mentioned criteria,then you can appear for this year IES exam.

    Important dates for IES-2012 Exam:
    Issue of application form from 25th Feb 2012 to 24th March 2012.
    Exam will held on 15th June 2012.

    Yes You are eligible . .!!

    Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in every year.

    Eligibility ::

    AGE - 21 to 30 years as on 1st august of the year of exam.There has been an age relaxation upto 3 years for OBC candidate and 5 years for Sc/ST candidate.

    Educational Qualification - Engineering degree or equivalent degree from a recognized university.

    Fee : Rs 100

    IES is the Indian Engineering Services, and it is basically conducted by the UPSC every year to select capable and fine engineers for the various posts in the Indian Government.


    The Basic requirement to apply for the IES 2012 is :


    You should be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech with atleast 60% aggregate in it.


    Your age should be between 21-30 years if you are a GEN category. Though a relaxation of 3 to 5 years is provided in the Upper age limit for the OBC/SC/ST candidates.


    Final year appearing candidates can also apply for this exam.



    So yeah sure if you done B.Tech and got 62%, surely you are eligible to apply for the IES 2012.

    **You should be BE/B.tech Graduate with 4 streams only.
