You are eligible but the examination is not conducted in Agricultural stream. You will have to give the examination in any of the following streams
    Electrical
    Mechanical
    Civil
    Electronics and Telecommunication
It would be very difficult to prepare for an engineering subject that you have never studied. I would advise you to go for Civil services, but if you can work hard then you can go for IES too.

Re: Am I eligible for IEs entrance exam after completing Agricultural Engineering?

Candidates who have opted for any of the areas like electrical, electronics, mechanical or civil are allowed to apply for this exam. Even candidates who have specialised in areas like Radio Physics or Radio Engineering or Wireless Communications or Electronics during M.Sc too can apply. The age of the candidate applying should be within 21 to 30 years. There is no relaxation in the education qualification required for applying for this course. So certainly you cannot apply for the same. If you would like to secure a government job then you have options like civil service. Also in the agricultural sector you can look for jobs in Indian Agricultural Research Institute, National Seeds Corporation Limited etc.

Sorry to say this my friend you are no eligible for the IES exam after doing Agricultural Engineering

IES is one of the entrance exams of UPSC and is held every year.

For writing this exam the candidates must satisfy certain framed eligibility conditions and they may include:

Candidates must have a citizenship in India so that he/she can apply for the IES exam

The candidate must also have got a age limit as it is peculiar as General candidates should have gt 21-30 years and for SC/ST it is 21-35 years and for OBC it is 21-33 years.

As regarding the education qualification you must have done your degree in B.E/B.tech in the following departments:

    Civil Engineering

    Mechanical Engineering

    Electrical Engineering

    Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

Even if the candidate is doing his final degree exam or waiting for the results he/she can apply for the IES exam as they will be eligible to apply.

As you have done your degree in Agriculture Engineering, you will not satisfy the criteria's which makes you not eligible for the IES exam.
