    If you have completed your Graduation in 2006 then its not an Issue, But if you have fulfill the age Eligiblity criteria then you are eligible for UPSC Civil services examination to become IAS Officer.

    IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become IAS Officer then you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination. The examination was conducted into 2 stages - preliminary examination and Main examination. The Preliminary examination was Objective and there are 2 papers in preliminary examination.

    >> After clear the Preliminary examination candidates are eligible to sit in main examination, In Main examination candidates have to choose the Optional subjects as per the Graduation basis.

    >> And to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination you need to complete your Graduation in any discipline form a recognised University and your age should between 21 to 30 years. Upper age relaxation is applicable for the SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

    >> General candidates will gets 4 attempts in this examination, OBC Candidates will gets 7 attempts, No attempts for SC/ST Candidates.

    Eligible candidates may apply for this examination Online or Offline, The Offline application form are availiable in the designated post offices in India.

    The Entrance examination for IAS is called the Civil Service Preliminary Exams.Once you pass prelims you have to appear in the Mains exams and then for an interview. The Prelims is a qualifying exam where as the total score of mains and prelims decide the actual results.

    Eligibility Criteria For IAS 2011:
    • You should be between 21 to 30 years .Relaxation in Upper age for SCs/STs, OBCs have been given up to maximum of 5 and 3 years
    • You should have Bachelorís degree From a recognised university.
    • No. of permissible attempts :

      4 for General
      7 for of OBCs and
      no limit for SCs/STs

    Examination Pattern For IAS 2011:

    CSAT Examination

    The first paper will be almost similar to General Awareness paper. The second paper will test candidate in the ares of aptitude, Data Interpretation and Comprehension skills.

    Yes, you are eligible for giving IAS examination. You must satisfy the age criteria there is some relaxation in age for SC/ST students. Here is eligibility criteria for IAS:

    (i) Age limits :

    21-30 years as on 1 july of year of examination.

    (ii) Educational Qualifications :

    Bachelorís degree of a recognised university

    Guidlines for preaparation:
    IF you are thinking about IAS then i think you must have some knowledge about it .so you are willing for it.......!So friend,
    its not soo important to join institution .you can also crack the exam if you have the ability then only .the books are as folloes:CHRONIC,FRONT LINE,WIZARD,INDIAN EXPRESS,NOVELS, ETC
    you must have a good GK,GS,and be aware about current affair.

    ELIGIBILITY

    AGE:you should be between 21 to 30 years on 01/07/2011.3 year relaxation for OBC.5 year relaxation for SC/ST.

    Education required : you should have at least one bachelor degree with at least one subject out of physics,chemistry,mathematics,bonaty,zoology,engin eering in agriculture,forestry,statistic,geology.

    Maximum 4 atteps for general category.7 attemps for OBC.No limit for SC/ST.

    you you satisfy the above condition,then you can apply for IAS.

    You want to prepare for IAS,then you have to download the syllabus from official site.then you have to select the portion in which you have hold.In these portion ,you have to cover most of marks.

    secondaly u can starts ur prepration by taking one good quality GS book like TMH GENRAL studies....................u can choose any subject according to ur interest and can prepare for the same...........best of luck

    Yes you are eligible after comleting B.COM.IAS is an exam which is conducted by UPSC for the recuitment of
    students for the govenment posts like IAS,IPS,IFS etc.

    This exam is conducted every year in the month of June and mains in the month of september/october.
    The notification for this exam comes out in the month of January.

    THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IAS :

    1)A candidate need to be a graduate in any field from any recognized university.
    2)A candidate must be an INDIAN CITIZEN.
    3)A candidate's age must be between 21 to 30 years.
    4)There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
    5)The candidate's in their final year are also eligible for the exam but they have to submit their original certificates when they will be joining.
    6)Number of attempts: There is some restrication on the number of attempts according to the category.

    For SC/ST there is no limit on number of attempts.
    For OBC A candidate has 7 number of attempts.
    For Genreal category we have 4 number of attempts.
    7)FEES:There is also difference in the fees for the application form.
    General category student has to pay 100Rs for the application form.
    For reserved there is no fees for the application form.

    Yes absolutely.There is no doubt about that.

    To apply for this examination,you should have a graduate degree in any desire subject.Graduation is minimum eligibility criteria for this examination.

    Eligibility Criteria :-

    You must have a completed graduation from any recognized university or equivalent qualification and there is no minimum marks required for this examination.

    Age should have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination and There is no relaxation for general candidates.

    Three years relaxation for OBC candidates and five year relaxation for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen candidates.

    4 attempts for General candidates,7 attempts for OBC candidates and No limits for SC/ST category.

    For I.A.S examination consist of three levels preliminary,main and interview.Those who qualify the preliminary round are called for main examination and after clearing in the main examination called for interview.

    Eligibility Criterion For IAS Entrance Exam

    For becoming an IAS (Indian Administrative Officer) a candidate must clear the Civil Service Exams which is conducted by the UPSC every year

    For appearing in the Civil Service Exams a candidate must fulfill the following eligibility criterion :-

    1) the candidate must be a graduate or a final year graduation student in any stream from a recognized University

    2) The candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category,21-33 years for OBC category,21-35 years for SC/ST and 21-40 years for PWD candidates


    The maximum number of attempts allowed for general candidates is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST/PWD candidates there is no limit (they can appear till their age permits)

    Enclosed with are a few past papers of IAS Prelims and Mains which will help you to know the paper pattern and the level of questions asked

    The forms for the IAS exam shall be available from 4th February,2012 and the last date to submit forms is 5th March,2012

    The Prelims will be held on 20th May,2012 and the Mains shall be held on 5th October,2012
