Well sorry to say that pre-final year (3rd year) Students are not eligible for GATE From this year i.e on 2012..

GATE Stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is conducted by IIT Delhi this time..

## B.tech 3rd yr candidates are not eligible for GATE this time in 20112.Because,IIT's took a clear admission strategy for M.Tech.

No, Third year students are not eligible to write the Exam of GATE 2012. The GATE Stands for GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING.This Test is conducted by the IIT's for the admission of M.tech in best Colleges of India. The Gate Exam is conducted in the second week of February Sunday every year. This Exam contain 65 Questions of 100 Marks. 25 Questions of 25 marks 15 Questions of two marks then 15 Questions of one marks and remaining of two marks and there is negative marking 0.33 for a wrong answer.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers.This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year once to provide qualified students the post graduation in Engineering.

To eligible for this exam,you should have completed or in final year of B.Tech course with any stream from a recognized university.

As you have in 3rd year,you are not eligible for GATE exam this year. But You can apply next year GATE exam i.e after entering 4th of year of your course.

Questions Q.48 – Q.51 (2 pairs) are common data questions. and Qquestion pairs (Q.52, Q.53) and (Q.54, Q.55) are linked answer questions. The answer to the second question of the linked answer questions depends on the answer to the first question of the pair. If the first question in the linked pair is wrongly answered or is unattempted, then the answer to the second question in the pair will not be evaluated.

You are not eligible for GATE exam in third year of B.Tech. Only final year student of B.Tech and pass out student are eligible to appear in GATE exam.

Eligibility for GATE exam-

- ->You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture. Final year students can also apply.

OR

-->You must have Master's degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications . Final year students of this course can also apply.

So, according to eligibility criteria you are not eligible for GATE exam in 3rd year of B.Tech. In 4th year of B.Tech you can appear in GATE exam.

About GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test):

GATE examination is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board every year. This examination only for those candidates who wants to take admission in Post graduate Engineering courses OR wants to do Job in top government companies like NTPC, BHEL, SAIL etc. The examination conducted every year and from this year, Pre-final year candidates are not eligible to apply for this examination, Only final year candidates are eligible to apply for this examination.

So, when you have pursuing your final year degree course then you can apply for GATE Examination, it means when you have pursuing your 4th semester course then you are eligible to apply for this examination.

So, please prepared well for this examination and then definitely you will be able to cracked this examination. After cracking this examination with good marks, you will get a chance to get admission in these colleges:

To apply for this examination you have to compete your Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture, final year appearing candidates are also apply for GATE.

OR

You have to complete your Post graduate degree course in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent.

There is no Minimum marks is required to apply for GATE Entrance examination. You can apply for only ONE of the 21 papers listed in the official website.

The examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours duration which contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective questions. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, except for the numerical answer type questions. Each GATE paper shall have a General Aptitude component carrying 15 marks.

So, please take it seriously because if you cracked this examination with good marks then you will get government Jobs because mostly top companies recruits candidates on the basis of GATE Scores. GATE stands for graduate aptitude test in engineering.

---> it is the examination held for getting admission in colleges for M.TECH course (master of technology).

---> it also serves as the basis of getting recruitment in various companies.


the eligibility criteria are:

1.you must have bachelor degree in engineering or artitecture.

2.final year candidates are also eligible to apply.

3.you can also apply if you have master degree in science,mathematics etc.
